AH-64E wor, the latest and most advanced of the Apaches.

Software issues?

Actually Apaches are really problematic, they are always involved in training accidents(even in RSAF) and can be easily be shot down if you take them off guard.

Since day 1 there were combat losses in every single war the US took part in. some as ridiculous as being hit by an RPG.

Apache is like floating target in the air, they have a long engagement range than their targets, but cannot evade detection, becos they are not meant to be stealth.

Rpg or AA missles within shooting range that are not detected by the copter can shoot them down.

Main objective of these gunships is to help the army clear tanks so ground troops can enter the territory. But I thought it's more Blackhawk being shot down than Apaches?

No casualty, saw the news this noon, crash due to blurry window glass lol

Then this one is really "software" problem. Lol...

e.g.when you are driving then suddenly Window blur, assuming wiper spoil, do you maintain course and slowly filter to the side, or do you ram you car and steer left and right hoping the window will unblur?

I don't think the evasive action for a blur window in apache is to dive down.

But I thought it's more Blackhawk being shot down than Apaches?

Lol I never say more apaches are down than Blackhawk. I'm just saying the apaches didn't have clean record and are not as invincible as what some media paint them to be..

Not an Apache, but this time a Taiwan airforce plane crashed.

The pilot was a hero, steered his plane out of residential zone.

Taipei, Oct. 22 (CNA) The pilot of an AT-3 trainer aircraft twice rejected appeals to eject to safety as he tried to maneuver his aircraft clear of residential communities following a mid-air accident on Tuesday, a decision that cost him his life, the Air Force said.

The pilot, Lt. Col. Chuang Pei-yuan, was killed after his aircraft collided with another AT-3 during a routine aerobatic training mission and crashed in a field in Zihguan District in Kaohsiung.

Chuang would have been able to save his life had he bailed from the aircraft when asked to by the control tower, an Air Force official said.

Chuang's plane crashed after hitting another AT-3 trainer in mid-air flown by Lt. Col. Yang Chih-ping. Yang's plane was not badly damaged and landed safely at the Air Force Academy in Kaohsiung
