Hi,

Anyone applies for specialist diploma course under WDA - SME funding before?

If my staff wants to apply for a course, can he apply the course first with the polytechnic or must he wait for the company to register with WDA for approval before the staff can proceed to apply the course?

If I'm not wrong, funding for specialist diploma got different schemes. There are those that are diplomas given by centres certified by WDA, those have higher funding - up to 90% per pax. If your staff is going for diploma in institutions like SP/NP that provides CET, they are also subsidised by WDA, depending on the staff, it can be 70% - 90%.

The company just needs to claim from WDA, these type of schemes always company put out money first then later on claim from government one.

Bro, as an SME, do u meet the following criteria?

• Annual Sales turnover of not more than S$100 million

OR

• Employment size of not more than 200 workers

The eligibility criteria of at least 30% local shareholding being held by Singaporeans or Singapore PRs will still remain, for enterprises to qualify for the SME assistance programmes.

SSG funding is usually 70% of the course fees.

Given that you have many staff, it is best to conduct in-house.

Other funding are PIC and Capability Development Grants from SPRING.

If the above criteria are not met, no funding will be given.

dont meet, the retail network is my distributor's employee, not mine [sweatdrop]

Youtube.

anything to add???

Plan 1

1)      Engaged a part time professional to present/video the training

Cost could be $100 to $150 per hour

Video/photographer about $150 per hour

2)      Load onto youtube /  youku

Plan 2

1)      Do batch training , record in office first and arrange to send the video to all staffs from different location.

2)      After watching the video , have an answer and ask session

     Plan 3

1)      Send the slides in summarized form send over to staffs

2)      Then conduct an answer and ask session

   Plan 4

1)     Get a few part times to conduct training at the same time

In such a vast network, u gotta do TTT. Train the Trainers.

Then cascade down to locality or unit training.

Bo funding available.

teleconference!

The cheapest, fastest to cover the most ground.

with 2000 retail staffs across 300-400 retail points, you avg 4-5 staffs per point. Given that the shops are very likely spread all over a country, and you have less than 14 days time frame, very challenging to cover 30-40 stores a day.

Arrange for teleconference training, let the staffs take turn to attend, you can at least cover 300-400 staffs at one go. There is no way you can transfer knowledge to all retail staff even if all 2000 attend the training, but you need to at least have the store manager well train in your product to assist

First conduct a teleconference training with the store managers, after that do a mass teleconference training spread over from now till May15.  The store managers will be able to help explain on the spot if there are Q&A.

PM me if you need actual set up details.

Good luck Bro.  :a-toast:
