Camrysfa Turbocharged July 16, 2014 Author Share July 16, 2014 The people of Glasgow are known to be direct but have a sense of humour ... here is a local humour: Glasgow teachers are known to use the following translations for the remarks they make on pupils' report cards: "A born leader" - Runs a protection racket"Easy-going" - Bone idle"Good progress" - You should have seen him a year ago"Friendly" - Never shuts up"Helpful" - A creep"Reliable" - Informs on his friends"Expresses himself confidently" - Impertinent"Enjoys physical education" - A bully"Does not accept authority easily" - Dad is in prison"Often appears tired" - Stays up all night watching television"A rather solitary child" - He smells"Popular in the playground" - Sells pornography
Camrysfa Turbocharged July 26, 2014 Author Share July 26, 2014 (edited) How can a national team be so clueless: Avoiding long-haul truckers, slow-moving caravans and tractors is not many people’s idea of the ideal warm-up for a Commonwealth Games time trial. But that is exactly what the four members of Sri Lanka’s cycling team were confronted with on Wednesday when they decided to go on a training ride down one of Scotland’s busiest motorways. Jeevan Jayasinghe, Buddhika Warnakulasooriya, Dinesha Adikari Mudiyanselage and Sriyalatha Wicramasinghe were spotted on their bikes travelling on the inside lane of the M74 before police stopped them and told them they were breaking the law. Camrysfa Turbocharged July 26, 2014 Author Share July 26, 2014 Commonwealth Games: Malaysian shooting gold medallist forced to quit Glasgow after losing jacket Devastated Malaysian Nur Ayuni Farhana Abdul Halim won in Delhi but without her shooting jacket cannot take part in Glasgow(her shooting jacket lost in flight baggage mix-up) - The news triggered a thought: On the surface, some sports are shooting themselves on being overly technical - shooting and archery are full of 'accesories'? am just comparing to football: 1950 and 2014, only the shorts shorter? Kiadaw 6th Gear July 26, 2014 Share July 26, 2014 I heard the story, but I think its totally crazy. It was reported that she could get a new jacket, but she refuse to wear it as she said it took 2 months to get used to it. I totally understand that customize gears are critical, in certain sports, & you lose competitive edge if you do not used the gears you are accustomed to, but that is NOT a reason for you to quit competing due to that. Its pretty unprofessional if you ask me. Her nation pay a huge sum of money for her to compete in Scotland, & she just refused to compete because she wasn't wearing her favorite jacket!
Kiadaw 6th Gear July 26, 2014 Share July 26, 2014 (edited) Scottish girls chio or not? I honestly never been to Scottish, but the most beautiful girl I met in my life is a scottish girl in Berlin on New years eve a few years ago. Good memories. Sometime I still mad at myself when she asked if I was free & in Berlin for the next days , but I told her I need to go back to work.( must be have too much beers)...Only reminder of her was a sticker of some music band she gave me, as a souvenir which is still pinned on my office wall. But anyway, fun fact. Scotland have more Gingers(Red haired person by %) than anywhere else in the world. Typically Ginger often genetically have pale skin & freckles Which is why Merida (of Brave cartoon), is read haired, playing with the ginger & scottish. Camrysfa Turbocharged July 26, 2014 Author Share July 26, 2014 MY MY ..... her jacket did not get loaded in KL! GLASGOW - Commonwealth Games shooting gold medallist Nur Ayuni Farhana Abdul Halim has been given a late reprieve to compete in Glasgow after her missing competition jacket was found and sent to her in Scotland. Malaysian Ayuni, who won gold with Nur Suryani Taibi in the 10 metre air rifle pairs in New Delhi four years ago, had been scratched from the 10 metre air rifle and 50m rifle prone events after the garment was lost en route and failed to arrive before Monday's registration for competition. A borrowed jacket did not fit and Ayuni said a new one would take two months to get used to. The luggage containing her tailored jacket was thought to be in London but was finally located in Kuala Lumpur airport's Lost and Found and flown to Scotland on Wednesday ahead of Friday's start of the shooting competition. Malaysian team manager Musa Omar said an appeal to Games organisers had failed but they discovered a loophole where changes to the line-up could be lodged before Thursday's pre-tournament technical meeting. - See more at: http://news.asiaone.com/news/sports/malaysian-gets-commonwealth-reprieve-after-jacket-found#sthash.iYJn7Izv.dpuf ↡ Advertisement
