The_Bear Turbocharged July 17, 2014 Share July 17, 2014 RM20 = nothing change ... traffic will not drop not even 0.1% ... jam like shit RM50 = still jam ... but should improve a little RM100 = swee swee 10mins can clear custom The levy should close to the equivalent of the difference in JB and SGP petrol price. S$40 per trip will wipe out the savings for regular motorist, even if they go in with empty tanks. So I reckon a levy of RM80-100 will totally eliminate the savings thus reducing the number of cars going in for petrol. As for those who has leverage on their property in SGP and moved to JB, good luck to them. No point kpkb because most of them are not forced into the situation economically. They made a financial choice based on their short term greed. In fact, they need to spend more money during the interim term as the property in JB needs to be paid with cash. So these group of people are not the financially challenged as they make out to be. No concession should be made for such group. The causeway is public property and should not be abused by any group seeking an economic advantage at the expense of the general public.

Icedbs Turbocharged July 17, 2014 Share July 17, 2014 (edited) RM50 is already too much, RM100 is crazy. I wouldn't mind if at RM100, I can go in and come back with no jams and totally smooth traffic. Money can always earn back, but time wasted on jams can never earn back. Kb27 Supersonic July 17, 2014 Share July 17, 2014 (edited) RM50 is already too much, RM100 is crazy. I like to see at least a RM50 VEP, then sit back and watch the show. Stevle 5th Gear July 17, 2014 Share July 17, 2014 Consumer groups (Malaysia) lauded the decision by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to implement the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) fee for all foreign vehicles entering Johor https://sg.news.yahoo.com/thumbs-vep-implementation-232200174.html ... read the news as linked ... they say “This is just a small way of compensating Malaysia as Singaporeans tend to enjoy the Malaysian subsidies at the expense of the consumers,”

Jman888 Moderator July 17, 2014 Share July 17, 2014 no.... first hit will be those s'poreans who live in jb work in sg any data on how many people staying in JB? this will really hurt them, they still have to brave the morning traffic to come to work (assume the increase from singapore side has no impact to the MY vehicle), but probably smoother traffic going back.
