Affair between two adults is not criminal offence. But problem is that the woman is a vendor to the school, so there lies the conflict of interest.

Anyway the case has been dragging on so long since 2005... I'm surprised the CPIB still digging at it in 2012. That means his first explanation to the MOE official wasn't really accepted.

this is adult affair, nothing worry for kids.

if he is not civil servant, he won't be found guilty.

thanks.

Just worried that the moral values of educators declining - ie lying, unfaithful?

Need to trust them to "look after our kids".

Hopefully, no neglect on his role as Principal due tot the adult affair.

Nothing to do with kids. This was an adult banging an adult. Some boh lam par - most likely either a jilted wife or a cuckolded husband but possibly also a jealous colleague of either - made an "anonymous complaint" about their affair and got him into trouble. His offence is not the affair but of making a false verbal declaration to a civil servant. Didn't know ordinary seebur serpent so powderful - it's not like that statement is made under oath or anything, and the guy wasn't really a police officer.

EDIT: he is also charged with having given a false statement to a CPIB officer, but I'm questioning the "Cluster Superintendent" charge. Cluster Superintendent so big fark ah?

well said.

Giving false information? Since when is an accused required to give incriminating information against himself? Would they have accepted it in good grace if he had refuse to answer their question? Guilty until proven otherwise? It is a no win situation for the accused.

PS - Cluster Superintendent no big fark, cluster fark niah.

TS very hum sap. The case is about giving false information. Why he go and jump the gun and say about what sexual offenses and worry about the kids in school?

You mean teachers & principal cannot have consensual sex wih other adults? They are also human beings mah. You can and they cannot? Double standard ah? Those who had sex cannot teach kids? What are you trying to put across?

Typical knee-jerk hypocritical moralising hysteria lah. [rolleyes]

In my humble opinion, parents nowadays expect too much from educators. Educators are also human. Parents need to understand the difference between a person's private life and his/her professional duties. As long as the educator does his/her job well, how he/she conducts her private life should not be a factor or be judged upon.

Well unless the educator in question is a criminal, terrorist, druggie, etc.

I know teachers who in private, smoke, drink and party, not exactly a typical role model in their private lives, but that does not mean they can't do their jobs well. I also know medical specialists that smoke, drink, eat junk food and have affairs, not really having super healthy lifestyles, but that too does not make them bad doctors.

Basically, if he did nothing wrong, he can just speak the truth and still wouldn't incriminate himself.

Self-incrimination only happens when the suspect is really guilty [laugh]

I'm surprised that cluster sup (quite senior, should be...) have to do such mundane job (taking into account the salary level) as going around interviewing principals in the course of investigating a complaint. Not the most efficient way of spending our tax dollars...

But maybe also because the accused is a principal, therefore need someone quite senior - similar or higher salary grade - to question him... going by govt logic of salary = dignity.

This is just another case like SCDF chief... having consensual sex but due to the work relation it can be easily link to corruption. Nothing to do with kids and school.
