It's the T5 Driv-E?

The 0-100 is a lot faster than the previous T5, and it's a lot more closer to the more powerful T6.

Hope you are enjoying the ride and the beautiful Digital Speedo too... =)

Just pen down the contract for S60 T5 :-)

will sg get the T6 variant?

Doubt so, unless you are willing to pay extra for the indent of the car.

Hopefully you can get it on the new XC90...

Anw, for info, there are 2 types of T6 available:

3.0 6 cyl turbo-charge petrol (304 hp, 440 Nm), 6 speed gear, AWD; and

2.0 4 cyl turbo-charge petrol (306 hp, 400 Nm), 8 speed gear, FWD.

Both acceleration (0-100) are sub 6s for the S60.

The last batch of S60 T6 (3.0 6 cyl) brought in by Wearnes were sold in 2012.

Went volvo showroom on Sat, was attracted by their ads.

Mostly interested in test driving the S80.

S80 T5 list price is 199k (last 2 units available). Didn't consider the D2 cos of the size of the car.

Can get discount of -15k if u take loan of min 80k,5 years. u have to add additional 5k if u want to pay full cash.

Free servicing for 3 years (4 servicing/60k) costs $2500 for the T5 [thumbsdown]

Also spent some time kaypohing around the S60 and V60.

S80

- extremely comfortable seats but some lack of lateral support when doing a U turn. I have to say that volvo has the most comfortable seats I've sat in of any car.

- rides over bumps very well. comfortable cruiser

- very electric power steering. lol even toyota has better steering feel ...

- dashboard is really bit wtf. looks very simple and good materials but really the important dials are too small and the numberpad for the bluetooth phone is just idiotic in an age where no one remembers telephone numbers. Tiny screen by today standards. Not touch screen as well.

- Got city safety but no blind spot indicator ... (option not available in SG due to our car cost)

- T5 accelerates very smooth and brisk. But personally i don't need that much power in SG.

Wish they had a cheaper T4 option

- works out to be 17k+/year depre

S60 rear roof height is too low. If i sit up straight (6 footer). My head will be in contact with the ceiling. The V60 T5 is better. But it's list price is 205k before discount [dead]

Wish volvo has a cheaper petrol option here in SG for people who don't need the power of the T5. I don't do more than 15k km/year and I'm still wary of whether diesel special taxes will change in the future.

Neutral Newbie

139K for s60 D2 is quite attractive. It is 50k cheaper than c180. My concern is whether S60 is a reliable car and high cost of spare parts.

Any advise?

Hi fellow S60 D2 drivers,

It's 5,000km mileage now,

My Auto Stop/Start didn't work even though I stopped at the junction.

I've googled and find out the following on VolvoCars.co.uk:

- battery less than 80% charged

- other conditions for the feature to kick in

I had the blackvue connected to the battery, running 24hrs. Not sure if it is the cause.

Have heard that the stock battery is meh...

Anyone facing the same issue?

Faced the same situation sometime back and went back to Wearnes. SA advised my battery charge was below the point for start stop to kick in. They then charged the battery back to full.

Prior to that I was also running 2 car cams 24/7. Now I am more selective and only on parking mode in unfamiliar places. The issue did not resurface so it was indeed the car cams draining the battery.

Hi Madbirdy,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Not sure if I'm right.

I think that explains why the CarCam wasn't on parking mode as the power magic was set to auto cut off when the car battery is below 11.8V.

I went back to the installer to reroute to a constant source 2-3weeks back.

Will check with SA on this, wonder if changing to other battery brands helps.

For my case, the power magic continued to supply power as the voltage was still above the cut-off. The SA explained that the battery was holding only about 40% charge. My limited understanding is that this do not equate to a reduced voltage.

Hope it helps

Yes, above 80km/h.

I hear it even with radio and aircon on as I'm quite sensitive to sound.

Now I can only use louder radio to over-ride it, private music theatre in the car :)

If anyone has any solution for this do share ok?
