actually HDB started out well.... in the 60s

 

before that, it was the SIT, who did little like the current HK government... boh zho gang one

 

when HDB took over, Lim Kim San and his team worked hard to solve the housing issue

 

but enter the 2000s, HDB changed under you-know-who

 

came out with crap schemes like DBSS... it became like a profit-oriented business, everything pointed to money

 

they seemed to forget that HDB was supposed to provide public housing to Singaporeans at affordable prices

 

when questioned, someone (again you-know-who) still dared to cry, saying HDB was losing millions every year (when SLA earns billions in the selling of lands)

I think Geylang got places 350sq ft going for SGD$500k.

242k for 16sq m is CHEAP. This is ONLY 1400 psf.

 

KNN, even jurong is more expensive than this now.

 

Clementic is over 2000 psf for studio.

 

Actually when I went hongkong, and walked past their property dealer office with all the resale condo ad outside, I LAUGHED. People say hongkong is expensive, but actually singapore has caught up and overtook, depends on where you compare with.

 

This really shows how weak the government is and how much change has to be made.
