Toddler Dashed Onto Road

let me state that this is not a bashing nor a "who's fault" thread hor. i was shocked after watching the video and i'm now very consciously aware that not only should i watch out for adults, but also potentially toddlers dashing onto the road. before the usual "it's the stupid kid's fault, he deserve it" comments, i want to say that the little tod don't look more than 3-4 years old, i.e: their behaviour are led more by impulses and stimulus and very little on logic and consequence. for people who don't have personal experience with your own kids, please do some research on child development before you start commenting.

this further strengthens my belief that there should be absolute discipline when it comes to roadside behaviour with my kid. hand-holding is a must when walking beside the road, traffic crossing, walking in carpark area.. etc. i do not hesitate to discipline with a smack if basic rules are not followed. i can't help but worry for those toddlers who are given a free rein when walking in areas with moving vehicles.

Power of Mercedes Benz Pre Safe Brake Technology! :D

I googled about this tech you mentioned. It's great! Didn't really appreciate such tech until I see it in action like this.

Toddlers got a mind of their own. Those who are parents will understand. The toddlers will always do the unexpected and give you a heart attack.

Shocked when I saw the video !

Where are the parents / guardians to hold the toddler hands esp when he is near to a road ?!

If he is in a park, I can understand if he is let go to roam, but not on or near the ROAD !

As parents / guardians, pls educate the child on road safety at all times, esp from young; and if he is really young, then pls hold his hand near / on the road.

A little bit of discipline will save a life, pls...

It was fortunate that the merc was going at a leisurely speed and all other lanes were clear.

马路如虎口.

Need to constantly remind caregivers or DHs on that and never let their eyes off little kids near to vehicular traffic at all times. As parents we are mindful and conscious 101% of the time but would a DH feels the same?

Twincharged

This is why I only let my helper do the housework. My wife still stays at home to take care of the kids. I have seen so many of these caregivers letting the toddlers run free or using their phone while taking care of the children.
