富商王邦益重砸1500万元，买下老字号文苑楼，由另一家餐馆入驻，文苑楼将在3月31日走入历史！

由于餐馆东主陈宏南年纪老迈、后继无人，加上得力助手也因年龄和家庭因素决定退下，老字号文苑楼在去年10月招标，宣布结业。据了解，富商王邦益相中了文苑楼，由大儿子王荣强代为下标，并以1500万元得标。

记者联络上王邦益，他表示，他看好裕廊东的长远发展，所以才决定买下文苑楼。

Mr Ong Pang Aik, Lian Beng executive chairman, said his family decided to buy the 11,248 sq ft premises in Block 135, Jurong Gateway Road as a private investment and rent it out. "The restaurant has a good location. It is near Jurong East MRT and there are many shopping malls nearby," said Mr Ong.

 

The Ongs will likely rent the space to a well-known Chinese restaurant. "The restaurant owners said they plan to start operation in May. But we are not ready to reveal their name yet as things are not confirmed," said Mr Ong.

 

Customers will be able to eat at the restaurant until March 31, the last day of operations
