safety lapse or young folly ? RIP ..... those with teenage children, please show this article to them. Go concert want to climb and jump -> open your eyes & SEE !!

They actually climb onto the air-vent to watch the concert and as more & more climb onto it, the air-vent gave way b'cos of the total weight causing them to fell into it.... [angel]

The organiser should be the one to be blamed for the accident. Choice of location questionable ???

I feel 70% of the fault lies with the people who climbed up and didn't realise the danger. 30% to the organiser who could have anticipated a problem.

The group girls not at fault but the one who organised the event and the selection of the location.....

As what Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) taught us, do a Risk Assessment (RA).

If there was a RA done for the location, no such incident could had happen, SK is well known for their safety standard just like Japan. Its just someone from the event organiser. $$$$ come first in line instead of people's safety...... [grin]

To be fair, Jap cars recalled are part of a world wide recall of a lot of car makers affected by a faulty air-bag. So can't discount jap car safety per se..

Like most accidents, all this could narrowed down only to one thing ... "COMPLACENCY"

Just like the ferry incident, the Captain left it to his junior to steer the ferry ... [grin]

Local contact known as "Honest Mistake", 'Lets move on' ... ^_^

The family of victims ask for leniency for those responsible:

  • A spokesman for the victims’ families told a news conference on Monday that they had reached an agreement with the event organizers for compensation for the victims.

  • “Considering the accident was not caused by malice or intent, we wish that criminal punishment for related people will be minimal,” Han Jae-chang, who represents the families, told a news conference.

think those which climbed up deserved to die. Even if the organisers have warned them , there are still going to be people which are going to climb up regardless simply because of a better view.

Whether covering it up or not doesn't make a diff as there are bound to be people who don't listen.
