paid adoption fees $10k still need to pay $26k for warranty claim?

once adopted can claim warranty already, right.

I thought this is normal?

10k is the adoption fee only. but if there was already a problem identified, I believe they would want you to resolve it before they adopt.

otherwise, if people buy from PI, then GB faulty pay 10k for adoption warranty like that CnC die big time.

Pls correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding of warranty is that it's warranty from the principal ie Mercedes Benz Germany. CNC is just the authorised agent in S'pore so it's their role to claim/connect with MB Germany to get the parts so they don't lose anything but admittedly labour cost is theirs but that is the price they pay for being the agent.

In short, when we buy a new car which is under warranty, the warranty should be worldwide n shouldn't differ whether u buy from PI or AD but obviously AD will chut pattern n don't want to help but I'm not sure if we can write into the Principal n insist that their local agent assist?? Anyway for Beo Altec1267 whose boss had already paid $10k to CNC, think it's ridiculous to pay another $26k for the repairs unless it's not under warranty anymore!!

not advisable to buy from PI, my boss got it from PI, warranty claim is an issue, a lot are not cover. And those specialise workshop, don't bank on them too much. They really don't know what they are doing when it is a newer model of merc, they don't even have the machine to do testing. In the end my boss lan lan pay adoption fee of 10K and repair the faulty "warranty" merc at C&C for another 26K. You can try your luck on PI.

i'm not an warranty expert but below is what i think.

like you mentioned, there are other overhead like labour costs that has to be bourne by the AD. and since they are losing out by not selling you the car, thats where the 10k adoption fee comes in. and this 10k is supposingly to cover the costs for a "new car".

so if your car have any problems, it should naturally be fixed before they adopt it. otherwise, they will be "losing out". hence the obscene costs of 26k.

i'm not saying that this is reasonable.. but i personally feel that this is not the worst of the consumer problems.

You're correct to say that MB Germany provides warranty on every car they sell.

However, MB only recognises C&C as the authorised MB dealer in S'pore. Hence, factory warranty will be processed by them.

For PI, these cars could be sourced from authorised dealers in UK, India or Timbuktu. If PI car wanna claim warranty, prob hv to go back thru the original dealer. I doubt the PI ah bengs after collecting ur $$$ will bother. So the PI warranty becomes a game of patience that after they make u send in numerous times and problem remains unresolved, PI buyer gives up and they PI dealer walks away without any warranty expenses.

whatever it is ... local AD rules ... else no point to become AD ... anyone can setup a Volks Auto and run road

that's why if buy from PI ... must make sure save $30k-$50k and prepare to forgone warranty ... if can claim warranty that's a bonus ... try until you vomit blood before giving up

if not ... the initial $30k-$50k savings is your repair cost

no risk no gain ... it's fair

want to buy from PI cheap and yet want peace of mind, no worries in warranty claim, AD service standards, etc - pig can fly la

if save $50k i still buy from PI ... if problem happen before warranty expire = sway lor = may be repair cost is not $50k leh ... i like to bet ... lol

even you top up $50k to buy from AD ... when you want to claim warranty from AD ... they also chut pattern one ... you think they easy easy change gearbox for you ... unless it's a paid service

C&C Warranty is 3 years. Indirectly also means that the $5k in service credits given when take a loan to buy from C&C, has to be carefully utilised.

Sorry guys I’m new here just login and saw many comments about buying PI VS CNC.

I have the same worry with PI too but after hunting around and asking for feedback. I have decided to buy PI E300 coupe as the price really too attractive which if I’m going to CNC is just a dream to have it but PI E300 coupe it’s cheape and lower cost than CNC E200. I brought it at 239k for E300 coupe (PI) but CNC after negotiations it’s 310k and not new face lift too. Anyway this is my own decision not means to get people to follow like me taking risk. But I still feel worth it as Mercedes doesn’t need to worry about repairs etc... My apologies and hope I did not offended anyone here.

I have owned the W212 E for 3 years plus now, bgt from C&C, no issue at all. Just don't buy new model from PI till all issues are sorted out. But savings must be worth the risk. Low risk does not mean no risk. Edited by Voodooman
