Hi,

My car's left signal light stays on when I lock the doors with the remote key. I have to unlock and lock again to make the signal light turn off. This problem only happens intermittently. I am afraid if I forgot to make the signal light goes off, it will drain the battery. Anyone has any idea why this problem occurs?

Depends on your car and wiring.

If it's those aftermarket alarm that lights all the signal light, perhaps the alarm (relay may be sticking) is not working properly.

These kind of alarm taps onto the signal light.

To disable is to remove the wire.

Hi Kb27,

Anyway to get a accessories shop to repair? Or have to replace the whole alarm system?

Rdgs

Most accessories shop would just replace the alarm system.

The cost is more on the labour and wiring.

The alarm system or the box can be pretty cheap for a low-end one.

What happened in wiring is that there are 2 wires output from the alarm box.

These 2 wires spliced into the left and right signal light. So when you lock/unlock, it lights up the signal light.

The cheapest way for you is to get a shop to find that wire and cut it.

Live without the left signal light blinking when you lock/unlock the door.

If you're lucky, some times there are fuses there which you can remove to disable the left signal light.

This does not affect the normal function of signalling and hazard lights.
