Picnic06-Biante15 Supersonic March 25, 2017 Share March 25, 2017 US grant him asylum mean he will be US citizen? If yes, good ridden . Also mean USA can forcefully rope him to serve in their army for 2 years and sent to Iraq or Afgan for attachment .... Just like Elves & Muhammed Ali of which, Muhammed Ali preferred to go to jail then serve in the army. ↡ Advertisement

Vratenza Supersonic March 25, 2017 Share March 25, 2017 Although I am all for USA helping us with recycling our trash , Judge Cole's reasoning behind the approval of asylum borders on interference with a sovereign country's judicial law. But on Friday immigration judge Samuel Cole paved the way for his release, which attorneys said could come as early as Monday. “Yee has met his burden of showing that he suffered past persecution on account of his political opinion and has a well-founded fear of future persecution in Singapore,” Cole wrote in a 13-page decision more than two weeks after Yee’s closed-door hearing on the asylum application. Cole said testimony during Yee’s hearing showed that while the Singapore government’s stated reason for punishing him involved religion, “its real purpose was to stifle Yee’s political speech”. He said Yee’s prison sentence was “unusually long and harsh” especially for his age. Who is he to decide if it is harsh or long? Might as well say we are draconian for having death penalty for drug traffickers? No wait...they did say that already..
Ingenius Turbocharged March 25, 2017 Share March 25, 2017 (edited) Although it is a good riddance, somehow I feel this is a slap on Singapore face. It is because of their first amendment that they feel Amos has done no wrong. If you do a search in youtube, some postings under the amendment can even say that trump have sex with his daughter. lol. Free speech sounds nice, but this requires a mature society so people can discern what is right or wrong or just personal belief. Vid Hypersonic March 25, 2017 Share March 25, 2017 Has the Singapore judiciary system made a mistake with Amos that the US judge agreed with him? In part, I think so because the sentencing is long for a boy who is not a full grown adult yet. It was harsh thus paving the way for his asylum.

It is because the parent had never been harsh on teaching him the right lesson in life, that's why made him what he is today.
