sometimes, you may not need to replace the entire compressor. it could be due to a worn magnetic clutch or something else. go get a second or even third opinion from an automotive aircon specialist. Mark-Cool (Ah Huat only), Tomika, L & Kim etc.

for those who want to venture up north for aircon repair, you may use the followings as reference:

1. TopOne (with a Clarion singboard), opposite Perling famous nasi lemak shop justion. go straight, middle of end lot. apart from air-con business, TopOne is also doing audio & accessories business.
197, Jln Simbang, Taman Perling.
Tel: 019-7849313

2. Fresh Air at Jln Yahya Awal, located somewhere between the 2 Esso stations there (the one on the right used to be Mobil). It's sort of an all-in-one place for car repair as it's next to a tyre shop and there's a workshop behind too. all within the same compound. they are an approved center for aircon courses and exams. prices slightly high but acceptable, with proper vacuum machines to do the job.

3. Fresh Cool at Jln Tangki Air, that short dead-end road where there's an old Shell station at the junction, and somewhere opposite Bomba Larkin along Jln Tun Abdul Razak Susur 4 (famous for ah kuas! [:p]  :D ). reasonable price but no vacuum machine for refrigerant. they can repair aircons of most types of cars and do compressor conversion job with the proper piping.

My 9th years Mazda3's aircon compressor also giving tick-tick (close to tuck-tuck) sound, was on and off when the compressor kicks-in, I also thought it was bearing issue.

I then went to Mark-cool, look for Ah Huat, he said it was the compressor running low with the aircon oil, he then performed a 15 mins job, using their machine to suck out gas, pump in aircon oil and gas. The tick-tick (or tuck-tuck) sound was gone since then.  Total cost: $32.10.

Only use the same model compressor. Some garages changes with separate model compressor which will just increase the load of your car. I guess it should be done within $400. Good Luck :)

Hi Guys, sorry that I just need to tan on this post. I'm newbie cannot start my own posting. Anyway, can one of you expert help me out here... my avante 2009 .. starting by engine making noise and shaking while I drive for good 15 mins and I feel that I cannot accelerate. It became obvious when I was taking off durin green light then suddenly louder and Oil Light start flashing.
I was a bit scared so I stop the car by the side road lucky i almost reach my place so after a while I start engine (though it's difficult to get it start but it's started eventually) and drive to park... the moment when parked and off the engine, I try to get it start again it's totally not working and oil light was on.
I left it till the following day evening, I try to start the engine. It worked as if nothing happen....
I decided to call the tow to bring it to check this weekend.
But before I let the WS check, do you think what's wrong with it?
I also checked my engine oil level it's fine not low and not over full. I also just changed my engine oil and oil filter last 3 -4 months back.
I read online and it's seem like I may have a problem with engine pressure, oil pump or may be engine not clean....
I don't know how much this gonna damage my wallet... 😰
Thanks in advance guys if you can help me out
