Man, 48, found murdered in Geylang

A 48-year-old man has been found murdered at Geylang Lorong 8, the police said in a statement on Monday.

Police were alerted to the case via a call on May 3, at about 9:09pm.

The victim was found lying motionless at the location given. He was conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital but was subsequently pronounced dead at about 10.12 pm.

On Monday, citizen journalism website Stomp reported that a man is believed to have been stabbed at Geylang Lorong 8 on Sunday night. A contributor by the name of Nicholas told the website that the victim was lying in a pool of blood on the road.

The case has been classified as murder and investigations are ongoing.

这起事件发生在昨晚9时左右，地点是芽笼6巷和8巷之间的咖啡店。死者是一名48岁马来男子拉希德，相信是本地人。

涉及这起命案的白发醋男，相信是一名50岁的左右的本地马来男子，满头白发，案发时戴了一顶红帽子。他与平头男是朋友关系，两人相信是为了死者的40来岁前女友希蒂（清洁工）而起争执。

据了解，平头男和白发醋男是朋友关系。两人昨天在咖啡店和前女友，以及几名友人一同吃饭喝酒，却不知何故引起纠纷。

Later like alcohol restriction, police may restrict timing that prostitutes can work, like only between 7-11pm.

Cancel all hourly hotel licences.

Easier to control.

If drive around the Lorong. .you will see many sign put up by police to alert of house breaking and etc. ...I guess the house there are not really crime free

I think his 'friend' has no chance to argue for a lesser charge than murder if caught.

Why bring a knife to Geylang for a drink? Some more so many kok kok quay down there, why need to fight over one?
