Supersonic

after a while, people will get numb and accept it

Looking at the trends, it'a always less than 3k for the past 2 decades. Only recently increase to 4-5k range for the past 5 years or so.

8k range is just too crazy.

Now they wanna inspect old bike for emissions.... my carb bikes jiatlat

I was just thinking of getting a carb bike next year after paying off current bike loan...

how high do u think the COE will rise to? 8k seems to be the resistance now.

Funny that bike COE is increasing while car COE is going down...

I don’t know how much it would rise. I don’t think you can get a new carb bike, these are like old technology, or can you?

Thde problem with carb bike now is that it may not pass emissions if the notch is set higher, so in essence you could have a bike and next thing have to scrap coz emissions cannot pass inspection.

was thinking of getting an old bike... a mini project bike but nothing too extreme. will be a bummer if we are forced to scrap a bike due to new emission standards. Has that ever happen to bikes n cars here?

It not about riding skills here

Its about comfort and feel.

Doesnt take much skills to just ride a dirtbike.

Many girls like dirtbikes becos they are screaming for attention.

Its been like than since 30yrs ago.

Those who scream for equal attention also like to go for sportsbikes like panigale and zx10r

Muayhahahahahaahah.

ya...I already found it painful when I renewed coe for my cb400 at 2k...

8k...renewal is completely out of the question for most bikes now...

I hope my trusty old workhorse has no problems with the upcoming new test...

Unless you have a collectors bike or a really solid rare bird, you will not renew COE.

You would rather just buy a new bike.

So the poor cannot renew their coe and are forced to buy new and more expensive

The middle refuse to renew their coe and will likely buy new and more expensive

The rich will just buy new and more expensive anyway.

In the end, COE will just remain expensive at best case.

My personal forecast is that it will hit $10k by 2020.

I feel its still worth it to renew COE for a regular class 2 bike. I see quite a lot of BMW, Harley, Ducati and Jap litre bikes with recently renewed COE. Its still better to spend 8k to renew COE and sell it on for let's say 10-15K rather than scrapping n get nothing in return. Do bikes have any body value after deregistration?

What I see is there will not be much residual value for these bikes unless you have a rare bike (example: Ducati S4R, etc) where there are still collectors.

The Ducati group that I'm in renew their COEs as they love their bikes and they are really very beautiful and well maintained.
