Hi guys

Am driving a 4.8m long car, and i am facing difficulty parking having switched from a smaller car

I can't park once like in the past, and always have to adjust a few times especially narrow lots and parallel lots

I am thinking of either adding a reverse camera or sensors in front and back

Could anyone please give me some advice to what things I can do to help me park better?

Thank you very much!

Only way is to practice. No camera is ok but no sensor is a no no. What car are you driving?

Ok thanks! Been driving daily but I can't seem to see the parking lot lines

Sorry I should have been myself clearer

There are two existing sensors at the back, can I add more? Do you think it's going to help?

My car has front sensors. Good to have but not really a must. If your car can support a rear cam, then you should add it. It does help a lot when you can see the back. Can park much better

Sensors ain going to help as the turning radius is simply bigger for a longer car. Stick to shorter car best for you then if 4.8m also cannot handle.

Remember never buy S-, 7- A8, and especially XJL!

Thanks but not gonna to give up since I just started, it's not like the parking fail video you see, I can go into the lot at once, it's just either too left or too right at times

Ok thanks! I think it does, do you know where will they install the rear cam screen?

Depends what car you are driving, jap and korean cars are easy to install. Conti cars will cost much more. Look around for those workshops that do ICE. They normally install cams too

Normally will install above number plate, beside the catch of your boot. Then run wires from back to front screen.

IMHO - Sensors good enough already at the rear - no need for camera, as to the lines - if they are hard to see I wind down driver window and look out to make sure I am straight.

Just practice practice practice - the tighter the better.

The only other piece of advice I could give - once you get used to the width of the car, use a "reference point" - eg - if you are 50 cm away from the pillar on driver's side - left side should be safe. So just focus on right side. Caveat here - be careful to check for left side obstructions first, or that other cars don't encroach your lot

Well,4.8m not really very long,Mercedes Benz S-Class & BMW 7 series are over 5.3m in length,i think your car should be just Mazda 6 or Camry...practise more will get good results....Or get a car with self parking function,

Such big car only 2 sensors ...

Uncle , screen ... not the cam eye. Haha

It will be interesting though to put the screen infront

Hee hee, do u mean it can integrate with the tuner screen? Don't need to remove and put another one?

Thanks for your great encouragement & great advice!

It's the lines that I can't see...last time can see now cannot see...so find it difficult to catch 准准 in the center

If it is the only car is in an open space with no pillar, anything I can use as a gauge?

4.8m only. No need what camera or side sensor. Just a pair of reverse sensor is sufficient.

This size usually is camry or accord size, quite easy to park.

You mean side mirror cannot see the parking lot marking ah?

There are two ways to get around this. First is buy a proper car because they usually come with auto tilt side mirrors. The second option is to park two times. Just drive forward enough and your side mirrors can easily see the lot marking.

My mirrors don't adjust, and I also can't see the lot markings in the mirror - that's why reverse parking sometimes I look out the window to align with the lots.

After a bit of practice you will get used to where to start your parking from in relation to the lot, do it mostly the same way each time -

worst to worst, just adjust.

Or another option - just print up a notice saying "I'm friendly and love to be near others" so that when you park next to someone in an otherwise empty lot they will at least get a giggle
