A lorry reversed and bumped onto my ride.

Just 2 dents, I estimate the repair costs to be around $600 to $800 (excluding lost of use)?

the driver was sending his mom to the market, I saw his (old) mom is on tongkat.

The lorry belongs to his company.

He agrees to pay for the repair and asked me not to report because it may affect his job.

He seems to be very caring looking after his mom in exemplary filial piety,

I decided not to report and sent my ride to his friend workshop.

Have not settle the repair, hope he don't sabo me.

I applaud your kind action.

But i have a question -

by your goodwill gesture, you decided not to report to your insurance coy. what if... the lorry instead report to his insurance and claim against you. giving his own side of story. will that work against you because you did not report to your insurance coy?

Just curious and wondering...

I think I have covered my ass [crazy]

1) i have car cam

2) i took some photos front and back to show who is at fault

3) he signed a short note (i drafted on the spot) stating that he will pay for the repairs for my car

If i didn't see him caring his mom, 101% i will report the accident..

Thanks for sharing and appreciated your kindness. Since this is his friend workshop, the friend may charge him at costs and which maybe $200 to $300 and so I think he will pay for the bill. His friend waive it. Since your car already repaired and if the workshop did not ask you to pay, then that should be settled.

Yesterday collected my car, the workshop done a good job, see picture - as good as new.

Ya, no need to pay for this repair. Case closed.

Happy ending [thumbsup][thumbsup][thumbsup]

I guess end of the day, the lorry driver is quite apologetic and plea with with you ... Like Buddha say 人性本善..,

I'm sure cases like this can be privately settled...

However if the bugger starts talking cock after he hits your ride, then The outcome is totally different liao lo
