Hi Guys,

Need advise for my almost 8 year-old Honda Stream.

Recently, I can feel my car shaking when I try to accelerate. This happens especially when I am accelerating up a slope.

I dun think it is the engine mount as it was replaced less than 2 yrs ago. What could be the cause?

Check the drive shafts - there is a rubber boot where the shaft connects to the front wheel, if it's torn then likely sand has entered in. Turn the front wheels and check under the car, both sides. The company that specializes in removing and cleaning, replace boot is Elite Drive Shaft at Sin Ming.

Is it the grooves on the ramp?

Very vague. If you dunno whether it's coming from your engine or from the suspension, there's no way of telling.

Try coming to a complete stop on a slope at your carpark (assuming you are staying in hdb like me, the ramps up to the next level will do) when there are no traffic, accelerate and move upwards, if it shakes alot, try checking the engine mount nearer to passenger side or nearer to the front. Unless you changed all mounts, the one you replaced two years ago might not be the one failing now - I had this issue last time with a Honda. [;)]

it could be transmission shudder.

I also suspect there is some problem with the transmission since there is not sound from the drive shaft during u-turn or when cruising.

I usually happen at some particular gear. You see if it is always gear 1 or 2

Last mth, I had this issue too. The car shake whenever I accelerate at speed of 70/80/90km/h.

My workshop replaced my driveshaft and the issue was ratified.

So far so good.
