Mitsubishi ASX

I did not look at the XV as it is 1.6L, I am more interested in 2L and above SUVs.

Not fair to compare the ASX 2L with the XV 1.6L as the engine capacity is different.

For the Subaru XV, FC:

User Fuel Consumption
Extra Urban: 10.0 litre/100km (10.0km/litre)
Urban:   10.0 litre/100km (10.0km/litre)
Combined: 10.0 litre/100km (10.0km/litre)

The Subaru Forester 2.0i Premium (Non -Turbo) FC:

User Fuel Consumption
Extra Urban: 10.0 litre/100km (10.0km/litre)
Urban:   14.3 litre/100km (7.0km/litre)
Combined: 11.5 litre/100km (8.67km/litre)

The Subaru Forester XT (Turbo) FC:

User Fuel Consumption
Extra Urban: 6.7 litre/100km (15.0km/litre)
Urban:   33.3 litre/100km (3.0km/litre)
Combined: 11.0 litre/100km (9.08km/litre)

Ok - now understand you were not looking at XV since below 2.0L.

By the way, the fuel consumption above are NOT correct - probably was for older versions of the vehicles.

Below are the fuel consumption for current versions:

For XV, should be

Fuel consumption (economy) - urban 7.9 l/100 km (12.66 km/l)spacer.gif

Fuel consumption (economy) - extra urban 5.5 l/100 km (18.18 km/l)spacer.gif

Fuel consumption (economy) - combined 6.3 l/100 km (15.87 km/l)

Ref: http://www.auto-data.net/en/?f=showCar&car_id=17921

For Forester 2.0L (non-turbo), should be

Fuel consumption (economy) - urban 8.1 l/100 km (12.35 km/l)spacer.gif

Fuel consumption (economy) - extra urban 5.5 l/100 km (18.18 km/l)spacer.gif

Fuel consumption (economy) - combined 6.5 l/100 km (15.38 km/l)

Ref: http://www.auto-data.net/en/?f=showCar&car_id=22336

For Forester 2.0XT (turbo)

Fuel consumption (economy) - urban 11.2 l/100 km (8.93 km/l)spacer.gif

Fuel consumption (economy) - extra urban 7.0 l/100 km (14.29 km/l)spacer.gif

Fuel consumption (economy) - combined 8.5 l/100 km (11.76 km/l)

Ref: http://www.auto-data.net/en/?f=showCar&car_id=22316

Hence, Forester 2.0 non-turbo 15.38 km/l for combined driving is quite good (see 2nd set of stats above).

Hi,

I think those figures you quoted are the official FC figures based on some standard driving patterns i.e. u drive like a tortoise!

The FC figures I got are from *neshift.com i.e. the reported FC figures from fellow S'porean drivers here.

They are for the current models NOT older models.

In general, it is not possible for a 4WD car to have better FC than a 2WD vehicle of the same engine capacity.

4WD will have to overcome more friction in the drive train to get forward motion.

I have nothing against Subaru cars, they are engineered very well, but I just do not like 4WD.

can provide the link to the reported fc figures?

didn't know Spore website had such feedback from car owners.

i also did mention that that official specs fc is not the same as real world but generally will give the relative fc between different models.

awd can be better than non awd in fc since non awd has such a wide range of fc.

awd >annot beat the best fc in non awd but. new design awd can beat some non awd of older design

as i said asx is a nice car.

would have considered if coe for cat b had dropped earlier.

enjoy your ride.

Hi,

See link: http://www.------.com/new_cars/index.php

This website provides real world FC figures reported by S'pore motorists.

It may be true that AWD models can beat some 2WD models in FC.

But do not forget that 2WD models are also improving on their FC.

Subaru cars are not the only ones who are improving on their FC!

Guess you must own a Subaru car to have such strong opinions on this topic!

No hard feelings, cheers!

Outside looks nice but ASX interior is really tight. Almost the same as lancer. So really not that attractive for a 2.0L

Do not find that to be true, the interior is quite spacious.

3 average sized persons can sit comfortably in the back.

Space is comparable to that in a HRV/Vezel (same class)

Of course, in small SUV class (width < 1800 mm), ASX is small compared to Mazda CX-5, Qashqai and Tucson (width > 1800 mm).

But I prefer smaller SUV as difficult to park a large SUV in small parking lots esp HDB ones.

Once parked, when you open your door, sure to hit the door of the car parked next to you!

Hi,

ASX is actually called Active Sports Crossover vehicle by Mitsubishi.

What a mouthful!

But generically it is still called a SUV like Honda HRV/Vezel (same size).

Hi,

Does anyone know where to buy the rear bumper guard and door scuff plates for the Mitsubishi ASX?

It is sold by Mitsubishi Malaysia/Australia/UK but not Mitsubishi S'pore.

See photos.

Thanks.

So did not manage to get the COE.

Revised prices sure to go up one.

Sigh! Must wait for next COE bidding.

Have you gotten your COE?

Did anyone buy the ASX recently?  The price is very tempting.  How is the fuel consumption and the maintenance of the car?

What accessories does your SE provide you with?

Thanks guys!

Hi,

Booked one ASX but second bid COE was not successful.

Still waiting for the third COE bid on 23 March.

According to LTA, the ASX FC figures are:

Urban: 9.4L/100km (10.6km/L)

Extra Urban: 6.3L/100km (15.8km/L)

Combined: 7.4L/100km (13.5km/L)

Heard from an ASX owner that FC is about 11km/L to 13 km/L using RON95.

As ASX has a larger fuel tank (63 litres), can easily go over 500 - 600 km per tank I think.

If you drive on NS h'way in M'sia, surely can do 700+ km on one tank, can reach Penang before refueling.

SE only throw in free rubber mats for the whole car, including boot area.

The maintenance should be alright, it is done at the C&C workshop.

My friend who has a Mitsubishi said their service is good, no hanky-panky.

They service Merc, Kia, Mitsubishi and Citroen.

But the important thing is that the car is made in Japan.

So their QC will be better.

Mitsubishi au and uk have lots of official accessories for the asx. Is there anyway that we can order from them or get c&c to order from them?

Has anyone bought any compatible accessories from Mitsubishi Malaysia? They have few showrooms in jb.

I'm just curious that the asx 2.0 2wd cvt is only available in Singapore, not anywhere else outside Singapore, not even in Japan (known as the rvr). That means this particular specs is only built for Singapore? This makes getting accessories/parts from overseas challenging as you won't know if it is compatible!

I checked with Mitsubishi S'pore, they do not carry any accessories for the ASX.

The former Raillart showroom at Alexandra no longer operates.

Don't waste your time checking with them!

Never tried buying from Mitsubishi Malaysia, they have showrooms in JB.

BTW, newer ASX for M'sia is assembled there, S'pore version is imported from Japan.

The ASX 2.0L is available in Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and some other countries.

In USA, it is called Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

You can try to order online from China online shops eg. Aliexpress.

They have lots of accessories for the ASX.
