And this is only one family, imagine hundreds of families Hehehe just joking ;) ↡ Advertisement

lausai88 Hypersonic August 16, 2015 Share August 16, 2015 Possible. As of 2012, I in 12 yrs owned 9 cars of which 6 are coupes including current one. All secondhand, only one brand new. Poor chaps like me can only buy secondhand fullcash no loan. I simply cannot afford to buy new on hire purchase. *sob sob* you can afford to buy new coupe with full cash, I guess you want to use the $ for other investment (e.g. relax rolex)
Ivan_06 5th Gear August 16, 2015 Share August 16, 2015 I really hope they could abolish this COE. Abolish COE? Muahaha... The best joke ever... This is CASH COW for them.
Axela72 5th Gear August 16, 2015 Share August 16, 2015 Population in 2005 was 4.3million as compared to 5.5 million now.. Dun forget that our spending power is also alot more compared to 10 years ago. Dun believe just look at the price of real estate flats or even new hdb flats then and now. Precisely. The growth of extra over a million is made up of foreigner (non locally born in Singapore). If TS is asking for 10k COE like older day era, TS got to ask the same question on whether is it possible to get rid of this extra population and bring down the population as before again. Throttle2 Supersonic August 16, 2015 Share August 16, 2015 you can afford to buy new coupe with full cash, I guess you want to use the $ for other investment (e.g. relax rolex) Er..., thats incorrect.... Even Enye who has $700k cash doesnt need to budget that way. I simply cant afford it, I need to save for a long time just to buy a Rolex... Very sad.... Poor chaps like me can only buy secondhand fullcash no loan. I simply cannot afford to buy new on hire purchase. *sob sob* It may not be possible for you to continue this "streak". Back in those years up till around 2014, used cars were a fraction of a new car's price. New car may be going for 100k but a 5 year old car would be going for maybe 30-40k. Now a new car is 100k and a 5 year old car is 70k, it's still cheaper but I think better to fork out another 30k to enjoy a brand new one.
Benarsenal Turbocharged August 16, 2015 Share August 16, 2015 My car COE is 5k. I don't think that will ever happen again. Govt will ensure that it will never go down to too cheap. I say at best will let it drop to 40k plus when the glut kicks in next year, unless something drastic happens (like LTY sabo. Hehehehe). ↡ Advertisement
