Don't say I look down on them, they cannot afford lar with their currency value drops like a rock... Unless ahjib use his own money from that donation to buy but we know it won't happen unless the pig can climb a tree...

Ummm, maybe another kind soul will donate to them?.. who knows... Isis maybe...[laugh]

Without a big defence budget and funding, the carrier would probably end up being mothballed and maybe used sporadically for 'ceremonial' purposes or emergencies; more brown-water than blue-water ops. Just look at Thailand's Charki Naruebet.

It's not so simple as buying a ship. You need a well-trained and operationally-ready naval and air crew of at least 300 to operate the ship; next comes the aircraft/helos and the cost of maintaining those; amphibious craft and/or vehicles, a trained complement of troops for amphibious operations; and not to mention the appropriate docking and engineering facilities, spares and know-how to keep the carrier going.

since when it's about getting it operational? it's all about how much $$$ they can swallow from the deal... [laugh]

Who says they cannot afford? VEP coming up - we're helping to pay for it ok?

Must be buying as an instrument for few individuals to fill up their pockets and not because they need it ,able to manage or maintain it. It will most probably remain non-operational as all the money meant for its maintenance would be in someone's pocket. That is how Malaysia works.

Don't small see Ah Jib OK? All he needs to do is go Middle East again and ask for another 700m donation sure enough to operate even after deductions commissions!

1=3.5

They don't pay all in cash maybe. Heard that last time they purchase MiG-29 from Russia, partly paid with commodities (palm oil)!!
