Just put on a set of SC6 tires and noticed a humming sound on highway when >85km/h. Usual road roar is still there, but this hollow humming only comes on at high speed, not on normal roads at 60+kmh.

 

Was told that It would be tread pattern causing the sound.

Understand that these are UHP tires which is expected to have more noise, but it this normal?

tyres not properly balanced can have such humming.  But then yours is new.
