What is your type of driving? Maybe you are heavy footed. I am heavy footed and my average is only 7. 2 on a 2 L car. Maybe the oil you used is thicker.

That is quite bad FC. My friend 1.8L Wish is clocking 14-15km/L.

70% highway.

Just bought only mah. After 3 full tank dan see how it goes.

You never say what your travel pattern is like...is it 90% city? You do calculation by looking at the trip computer? What tires are you using? Are they stock size or over size?

If no check engine light or whatever obvious issues you bring to workshop they will just chuck it one side. Unless you instruct them what to do they will not do anything. What for?

hi Samdo1978

Part of the reason why the fuel consumption for you 2.0 Wish is not so impressive is because:

1) This is the Borneo motor 2.0 litre Wish, it is still using an old engine (used in previous Picnic 2.0). I don't see your fuel consumption (even light footed) will be extremely good. Engine number is 1AZ-FE if i recalled correctly. Same engine also used on Camry 2.0 and RAV4 2.0.

2) If i also recall correctly, this 2.0 litre Wish is still using 4 speed automatic gearbox.

2) The 1.8 Wish (JDM version) which Borneo bought it later has better fuel economy. Gearbox is CVT and usually gears towards better fuel consumption too.

Is your rim on 16' or 17" ?

Overall like other bros mentioned here, thinner oil used, driving pattern, tyre pressure etc. do help a bit.

Nevertheless the old 1AZ-FE is a very robust engine.

:)

Anyone thinks in this type of case, cleaning the Maf sensor would help? Anyone seen the cleaning spray for sale?

Thread starter, you pump 95 Ron? Think 1az fe is spec to run that.

I am running on Ron95. Ron 98 does not make much different though. Ok will run through Caltex techron fuel system cleaner and update the development here

My engine is not 1AZ-FE though. Thanks all for the advice

Used to drive a 1.8 wish 9 years back and the fuel comsumption is not really good as what ppl mention (13km -16km/L) Im not heavy footed and run 65% highway. Average I get is between 10km to 11.5km/L only. So for Tomyam 2 L Wish, I think that's quite ok.

Hi All,

Any recommendations for the CVT fluid? Can we use any other ATF fluid?

Was contemplating using Mobil 0W30 4quarts and Redline Automatic Transmission Fluid  for servicing.

Your Toyota Wish are using CVT transmission or auto transmission?  because both fluid are design for different transmission and are not interchangeable, your Wish should be CVT right?

You will need a Toyota CVTF FE spec CVT fluid and Valvoline fully syn CVT fluid will meet your requirement, Redline D4 ATF is definably not suitable.
