Saw the new 2016 Nissan Maxima when I was overseas last week. Didn't know what car it was from afar but when took a closer look, at first thot maybe some new Lexus or Infiniti but was quite stunned that it's the humble Maxima.

Gotta admit.....the new design looks very  [thumbsup]  [thumbsup]  [thumbsup]

Looks like Datsun has finally got it's design right.  [nod]

Wonder if it'll come to Sg as the new Teana?

Turbocharged

Again with the cut-stripe across the C pillar!

But wah say, the shape is nice. But the behind look too much like Lexus for me.

Front end detailing a bit fussy and overdone for my taste though.

Maxima is one class above Altima. Different car. Don't think tan chong will ever bring it in. It seems more for North America. There is already a face lift for Altima in US and we might see it soon here.

Our Teana is their Altima [:(] After Maxima is probably Fuga then the flagship Cima.

Japanese make too many models,very confusing,different Country,different models,unlike BMW & Mercedes Benz,main model,like 3,5 & 7 series or C,E & S-Class.

Really meh.. Now BMW has from series 1 to 7.

Audi many models all look the same. Merc adding more and more also.. Just look at their G series.. Gla GLE GL GLC or what not.

I guess nissan is giving different models for different markets. They at least keeps it segmented very distinctly. Altima or maxima.. Won't ever come to sg I believe. Plus having the Infiniti around, probably they won't want to encroach into that segment also.

I tend to agree with ER-3682. Those 3 conti brands may have been adding more models but the ranges seem more intuitively structured and, I believe, the various models (though not all variants) are largely available here. I find the Japanese makes' product ranges a bit more all over the place.

Perhaps it's the way the brand label the cars. Some use numbers, some use alphabets. Imagine if merc doesn't have the various classes .. It is gg to be a huge mess too.

Nissan probably is less clear in that aspect so it confuses the consumers.

Ah ya. I was thinking, Maxima is Teana meh? I thought Altima.

But that explains why this car looks so long. Because it's longer than Altima. Haha.

Probably still an indication of what to expect of the future Teana and Nissan styling though.

I don't like the black strip across C-pillar though.
