PRC is slowly and steadily investing in malaysia and indonesia ... buying up whatever they can

this has a huge impact on spore one way or another

i think 50 years later ... even spore want to join China ...

as my friend in govt service says, you either spread your legs wide and let them f you now and then.

Or they'll just come gang rape you later.

The PRC don't play nice  [lipsrsealed]

Chua yee boon! 凍蒜!!

Will we see another self orchestrated 真枪实弹 live firing "exercise"...?

In 50 years, I don't give a hoot if the North n South Korea or China n Taiwan would reunite...nothing against our north neighbour, but do care if we still get to celebrate SG100 as a sovereign nation, not as a state.

it's good to have buffer states around the red giant.

Japan is going to decline rapidly in the next 20-30 years, their population is going to be down by 1/3 by 2060 and most of the population left will also be old.

Korea is also going to face the same problem in another 40 years. their birthrate is the lowest in the world!

So that's the 2 biggest regional powers other than china down...

Words of wisdom from her:

Ms Tsai wrote in her book: "In a mature democratic society, if there is no strong opposition party, then democratic politics will most likely regress.

Can't say the same for Singapore.

Taiwan isn't a mature democracy since its system is a copy of western concept started out in the  1990s election of Lee Teng Hui, failed to be free from systemic incompentency and widespread corruption.

In case you think this is unique to Taiwan poltical system, we also witness similar paralysis the is also found in other Asian "democracies" from India to the Philppines to Malaysia.

LKY had warned about this on more than a few occasions.

That 16-yr old, like any teenages, knew nothing about politics when she innocently waved a Taiwanese flag on a Korean TV show..and that wasn't a major headline news until..after she issued a video apology saying she supports "One-China" and she is a 中国人.

Pro-independence groups in Taiwan went ballistic and became the Island's top news

Under pressured to say she's china people

Apparently, this singer has a contract with a Korean record company has China-market in her album promotion.

I guess end of the day, she is like one of those million of Taiwanese now making a living in China.

IMO, taiwan was supported by the west many years ago. but the western power is declining over these years.

china will be the next power house in the near future. taiwan cannot progress prosperously with strong economy

without the support of china. [:p]
