hi friend. you can remove everything from the car as long as the chassis and engine is brought to the scrapyard.  The staff will verify that the engine and chassis # match the information on the scrap form.

Of course, you must get a tow truck with flat bed to bring your vehicle to the scrap yard if the wheels are removed.

hope this helps

I share with you on something. I went to accompany a friend to source for an aircon compressor at a scarpyard for his Japanese BnB car. The fellow working at the scrapyard pointed at a container and told us to pick one. The contain was filled to the brim of the same model a/c compressors. The fellow told us it has been used only for 2-3 years becoz the Japanese scrap their cars early.

Unless your car is of a special breed I would say don't bother. Or unless you got a lot of time. There's no demand. Removing the parts involves labour charges. Towing the car requires tow charges. I heard that scrapyards only take in cars that are in driving condition. You got to call them to describe to you what is "driving condition".

You should also read the news. Scrapyards have run out of space and some had to turn ppl away. Do not take up too much time to plan.

Wah...you must be a Singaporean. In life, you win some, you lose some. The scrapyard people also need to make a living. No point being so calculative.

Twincharged

I took the rims cuz my old car and new car can use the same rims. CD player also took out cuz it was quite new as I changed when my old car around 8-9 years old. The rest all no point taking.

Haha I ripped out the sound system, first aid kit, break down triangle, 3rd brake light, jack and some switches from my old W124.

You could trash the car the night before by doing handbrake turns and attempting donuts with it before you send it off.

Break down triangle seems good to take out? But if you buy another car, usually it will comes with it. Lol.

So car plate can take out also? If scrapyards really have run out of space and some had to turn ppl away, what happened if your car really needs to scrap?

Dude take a chill pill la. Go to an empty parking lot la. Maybe Kallang Leisure that side can do la. My W124 no handbrake so cannot pull. Went to launch the car for fun. Put your left foot on the brake. Rev to 3000rpm and let go! Can also do a burn out if you have a RWD car.
