I can't help but noticed that the prices for PI cars has increased not in tandem with the Coe increase last bidding. I shall predict a slight increase in the coming bidding even though the quota has increased

I feel that this round COE will drop because of these two reasons:

1) Increase in Quota

2) Upcoming Car Show end April (Buyers might wait for the car show prices and packages)

Cat A: 41k

Cat B: 44k

Oh...sounds so familiar:

1) BEFORE Car Show: Sign now before COE Cheong from the larger orders expected.

2) DURING Car Show: Sign now because you see around you, all these people signing, better sign now to lock in your new car at this price.

3) JUST AFTER Car Show: Sign now before we go for bids for orders collected from the just over Car Show. (same freebies and discount if you sign today)

4) 2 COE biddings after Car Show: Sign now because we are still clearing the back logs from the last Car Show, better lock in your COE at this already historical low level. We are expecting the next round COE to go up.

NEXT Motor Show....just rinse and repeat.

Qn: when is it ever a good time to NOT sign?

[laugh]

When they are not selling cars anymore apparently..

Otherwise, it's always a good time to sign..

Since quota is out, I start the ball rolling.

Cat A quota increased 5% and about 47% unsuccessful bids

Cat B quota flat and about 51% unsuccessful bids

Cat C quota fell 22% and about 51% unsuccessful bids

My guess is Cat A flat at $46K and Cat B rise to $48K

I agree that COE premiums will generally be lower in this round of exercise for the following reasons:

1) Prospective buyers waiting for LTA to announce the quota for the next bidding period May - July

2) No major new launches

My guesses for this round of COE premiums:

CAT A: S$44.3k to S$44.8k

CAT B: S$45.5k to S$46.0k
