Dadiao 1st Gear May 23, 2016 Share May 23, 2016 Dear All, Recently saw a banner at the Cnergy Kiosk (along Toh Tuck Ave) showing 'Diesel @ $0.70', wonder anyone has tried: 1. They really have diesel other than CNG ? 2. Is the diesel quality as good as Shell, Mobil, Caltex ? 3. Recommended long-term usage ? Looking forward to your views and feedback ! Thanks ! With Best Regards ↡ Advertisement

Kangadrool Supersonic May 23, 2016 Share May 23, 2016 this is the problem with being "cheap". People will start to question. If I operate it, I will sell $1.40/L and market it as premium diesel.

Kb27 Supersonic May 24, 2016 Share May 24, 2016 Smart Energy http://www.smartenergy.sg/ also at Mandai, Euro 5 diesel, about $0.80 My Euro 2 van takes the cheapest diesel at about $0.60, no problem.
Spring Moderator May 24, 2016 Share May 24, 2016 Yes i saw that one there... i did not know it was for Euro 5, saw it a few months back, any idea on the pricing?? Last few weeks I think it was around 78cts per litre for diesel (comparatively esso and shell then were at $1.05 before station and CC discounts) but guess it has gone up since Oil prices have picked up. Understand you can buy a member card to give you a discount (not sure how it works though). Likely you will save around 10ct a litre which adds up I suppose for heavier users but then again if you need to travel there, it might not be worth it.

Honestly, Im not too sure whether those Taxis are Euro 4 or Euro 5 engines. But I did saw new Sonata cab pumping on those cheap diesel as well. But in the 1st place, I doubt those taxi uncle would care, its not their car and even up the lorry, they will just bring it back to the taxi company for repair. If I remember correctly, the different between those industrial diesel vs Euro 5 diesel are the sulfur content. If the Euro 5 engine pump low grade diesel, the diesel particulate filter near exhaust system will up the lorry very fast and its not cheap to replace that. I could be wrong, not very familiar with diesel engine in the 1st place. Edited May 24, 2016 by Tigershark1976

But they are filled by trucks carrying diesel to their place. Now, where does these trucks get their supply ? It could be straight from the oil companies refineries producing Euro 5 diesel, in which case you get the same, but without the brand. Or it could be from some bunkering ships carrying diesel in from elsewhere, in which case you may get lousy diesel. Oil companies will not deny sales in large volume to these trucks, that may end up as "industrial" diesel. It's business in large volume, why not ? ↡ Advertisement
