Need some advice from bros...

My Nissan Latio 2005 is now 11yrs old with 260K km mileage. I am the only owner and renewed COE for 5 yrs last May

Problem I have now is the engine oil is going down almost weekly and i topup like 2L in 2 months

Engine have never been dismantle, no sign of engine oil leaking from undercarriage, viacom passed last month with no sign of black smoke emission etc

I cannot spot any sign of oil leak inside engine compartment as well. I have done engine compression test and all 4 cylinders are showing equal compression

What could be other problem? at a loss of what to do now......

You may like to check valve cover seal. Likely the oil leak due to W&T. You may not able to see from top. Look under the sump reservoir, check if oil evidence at under carriage. Use thicker oil to slow leakage. 15W50

If piston ring damaged, white smoke is visible at exhaust indicate oil burn in combustion. Do a engine top overhaul. Est Damage $700.

All the cylinders have almost same amount of wear on the cylinder walls if the compression reading is the same or within 10%. The engine oil on the cylinder walls are not properly scrap down to the oil pan during the pistons downward strokes. This means the piston scrapper rings have weared out and overtime need to be replaced ( including the compression rings )

The temporary  solution is to use a slightly thicker grade of engine oil - use only mineral oil.

Hope this helps

Leaking from within? As in leaked to the coolant reservoir?

A crack in the head gasket could leak the engine oil to the coolant and subsequently to the coolant reservoir. If you see all black in there that's probably it. If it's brown it's your coolant long time no change and need to do a flush.

What you can do to be sure is to park in a clean parking lot when you are home and look out oil stains on the ground in the morning. By now your car should be quite dirty after so many years of driving it will be difficult to spot any oil leak.

If you cannot find a clean spot to park dan find a large sheet of carboard and place it underneath your car. Just large enough to cover the engine area.

If all fails you may try to look for engine stop leak products. It doesn't work 100% but it will slow the leak. So you do not have to spend too much on engine oil. The stop leak is very cheap I remember. Not more dan $10 either in a tin can or plastic bottle. Can find it in places that sell engine oil or the black shop call autobac.

Has your mechanic checked the PVC? A stuck PVC can cause excessive engine oil consumption.

yah...i guess the next option is for top overhaul...i am using 5W50 Mobil 1 oil now

my coolant reservoir has no sign of oil....just changed my radiator last Aug....i have used this STP Engine Stop Leak before my last oil change......not much difference..

wah..this is something new to me.....and i dun think any of my 2 mechanics (2 different workshop) checked or mentioned anything abt this

but now i need to go find where is this located in the engine compartment.....

For PCV it's very straight forward. A check engine light will be on or an obvious whistling noise from the engine. The pcv valve being clugged by contaminants won't consume so much engine oil. It's just a ventilation system to contain the fumes and recycle it to the air intake system. Due to environmental issues and health issues the fumes from the engine is contained within to prevent it from being released to the air.

my engine dun produce whistling noise but instead lt is like a motorboat engine sound....rumbling........

For my previous car, PVC located at the top of the engine cover where inside are the valves train. Tubing lead to the carburettors just under the air filter.

My current car, PVC also located at the top of the engine cover and lead to the intake manifold.

Not sure about yours, can start by looking at the engine cover top to see if any.

With 260k km mileage and 11yr of age, most likely the rubber like valve stem or upper valve cover gasket are dried up and cause leak or the piston ring became stuck and cause increase oil consumption. Either way, there is nothing much you can do other than engine overhaul or maybe try to rejuvenate those rubber seals and unstick those suspected piston ring.

There is a product that might work in your case, you might want to try it before you go the route of engine overhaul.

never see this product before.....

any idea where to get?

I agree with one bro above.

If no visible leak, I believe it's the 16 pcs of valve seals and 4 pcs of spark plug seal.

These rubbers hardens over time and will leak. They are not too ex.

oic...actually i have oredi tried Atom1 (maybe spelling wrong), Ceratec etc but no use......

Ceratec is more of an anti-friction product while this lubegard engine protectant even though advertise also as an anti-friction product, it is consist of mainly natural and synthetic esters in their formulations. As you might know, certain esters are great at cleaning up engine gunk and in this case it might work in your engine.

one way to check if is burning oil is take out ur spark plug and see if there is any oil residue. If your oil ring is stuck dead inside the piston groove, you will still have good compression test. High chance that your oil ring is jam and not able to expand fully thus burning oil as you drive since unable to scrap oil from cylinder wall. sadly the only way is to replace the pistons ring which means a rebuild is neccessary. Another place to look for is the valve cover gasket, oil could leak through the valve cover gasket and into your sparkplug holes and slowly burning it from there. Could be also your valve seal as well, do you notice blue smoke in your exhaust when starting your start after the engine has been left shut for a period of time?
