Michelin Guide Singapore

Had a separate lunch and dinner at the Peony Jade @ Keppel Club, which is a Bib Gourmand rated restaurant.

This was the a la carte dim sum buffet. We were greedy and ordered way too much food.

On a separate occasion, attended a dinner event, celebrating a senior's birthday.  Food was quite good.

The only Michelin-starred ramen shop in the world will be opening a branch in Singapore next month. Tsuta, a nine-seat noodle shop in Tokyo won a coveted star from the respected Michelin Guide last year.

Queues form as early as 6:00am at a ramen shop called Tsuta, in Sugamo, Tokyo, even though it opens only at 11:00am, said Michelin Guide Singapore. Chef Yuki Onishi, 37, serves only about 150 bowls of ramen daily - each one priced at 1,000 yen to 1,500 yen (S$13.50 to S$20) a bowl.

The Singapore restaurant, an 18-seater, will open at Pacific Plaza on 9 Scotts Road. It will offer ramen in three soup bases: a miso soba; a shio soba in chicken-seafood broth, rock salt, red wine and rosemary; and Tsuta's signature shoyu soba. Mr. Onishi said people in Singapore are more used to tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen, but he wanted to introduce shoyu ramen to local taste buds.

Must go and try.

I have been to Spain and tried their michelin suckling pig. It is so so but he threw the plate on the floor after cutting with it. Haha that is what I remember of the Michelin.

It is about marketing. I would say the roast pig in Bali is something. Yet no Michelin. I am one that would not go for such rating. How to cook well when it is crowded and you dont have time to cook properly?

Don't understand how tyres can become food. [laugh] Can't see the linkage also except (working) tyres will bring you to the Michelle Lim's starred stores, and punctured ones won't. In anyway, can always walk.

In 1900, fewer than 3,000 cars graced the roads of France. To boost the demand for cars and, accordingly, car tires, brothers and car tire manufacturers Édouard and André Michelin published the first edition of a guide for French motorists, the Michelin Guide.[2] The brothers printed nearly 35,000 copies of this first, free edition of the Michelin Guide, which provided useful information to motorists, such as maps, tire repair and replacement instructions, car mechanics listings, hotels, and petrol stations throughout France. Four years later, in 1904, the brothers published a guide to Belgium similar to the Michelin Guide.[\quote]
