I'm of the opinion that Michelin guide for Asian cuisine cannot be fully trusted. Have tried a few of the starred restaurants and I can easily think of cheaper and better alternatives. And Din Tai Fung and Tim Ho Wan are 1 star restaurants??? Seriously???

The star is only for a specific restaurant and not the entire chain. Main chef might be good or have been good but now that they expanded too much, quality is gone.

Roam around, try around, trust your own taste.

Sometimes, ask taxi drivers is better.

This is so true as they are the one on the road all the times [nod]

to be honest, recently i find that there is a lot more satisfaction to cooking my meals rather than just simply cooking out.

i dare say that my chicken rice got 80% of tian tian's standard. esp my rice. hahahaha

I totally agree.

But i do appreciate certain foods which take a long prep time to prepare the handmade way instead of central kitchen or outsourcing.
