Kusje Supersonic July 15, 2016 Share July 15, 2016 I'm of the opinion that Michelin guide for Asian cuisine cannot be fully trusted. Have tried a few of the starred restaurants and I can easily think of cheaper and better alternatives. And Din Tai Fung and Tim Ho Wan are 1 star restaurants??? Seriously??? The star is only for a specific restaurant and not the entire chain. Main chef might be good or have been good but now that they expanded too much, quality is gone. Lala81 Hypersonic July 18, 2016 Share July 18, 2016 I'd rather trust makan thread recommendations! Honestly sometimes things are ho jiak. But there's a difference between good enough for u to travel across the island to come eat or just try when u are in the area ... unless you're @little_prince to be honest, recently i find that there is a lot more satisfaction to cooking my meals rather than just simply cooking out. i dare say that my chicken rice got 80% of tian tian's standard. esp my rice. hahahaha

But i do appreciate certain foods which take a long prep time to prepare the handmade way instead of central kitchen or outsourcing. ↡ Advertisement
