Exhaust muffler for my 10yr old Nissan Sunny

My Sunny coming 10 years in next 2 weeks. Had LTA inspection and passed with advice that I change the rusty muffler as the sound will get louder over time.

Now that I have renewed my COE, I would like to change the muffler.  Any one got advice and the price for the change? Many thanks.

I can live with the sound as it does not affect my fuel consumption or any function.  But I have 10 years to go from 1 Jul and best I change now. I am prepared to change in JB.

How rusty is it?

Best it to just DIY.

Lots of universal Mufflers out in the market. No need go JB. Better luck in scrap yards.

Turbocharged

Just live with it until LTA bike stop you, which I don't think they will as it's original. If really kenna stopped, just say exhaust is the same when first bought. Then let the officer do his sweaty work go find the rust. Then act blur as an noob motorist.

I don't mind living with the noise but not for 10 years.  It's the noise that's inside the car that will bother me and the muffler will eventually give way completely.  So might as well change early and have a quieter ride.

The outer layer of the muffler has is peeling off due to the rust and in no time there will be hole.  For sure need replacement as I has been to a welder before to assess whether can weld or not.

I rather get new replacement since I may be driving for the next 10 years, if the price is ok to me.

I have a 1.6 manual nissan sunny due for scrap this month. Since you renewed yours for another 10 years, do you think you would want some spare parts? Single owner for the past 10 years. Only changed exhaust (coz rusty) and rims to 16".

Many thanks for the offer. The only items that I may need are the front and rear bumpers.  Yours silver color?

Go scrapyard and find. Sure to have plenty around.

I went JB and changed new original Nissan muffler at RM200 including installation.

Even if scrapyard sells cheap, it's second hand and need installation!!!

The sound I described in my first post was not due to muffler because after I changed to new muffler, the sound was still there.  Finally got WS to check and the cause was the 3 of the wheels' bearing gave way..
