a few yrs back i saw a geely workshop in jb.....opposite holiday in next to a Proton service centre. Now...not sure whether they are still in business anot.

yeah, still in operation but rocket price..

I enquire with them on my timing belt change, no bringing of own products.

quoted me rm4k for a timing belt change..

:D

for your info, they don't carry parts for all china made, only selective.

like T11 or north star, can't remember.

Sorry for being blunt, but if you value your dad's life, you should stay away from these 2 coffin on wheels.

And where are u going to get the parts? Taobao? Not that its is impossible but you are on your own

These 2 junks have serious overheating issues and poor fuel economy despite tiny engines...

Buy used LiteAce of High Ace la...

Even those Japs K class 660cc vans are better than these 2 Chinese junks.

LTA must be sleeping to actually let such cars be registered in SG....

You wont find them in USA, Europe or JDM...

yeah, TS. This bro speak nothing but the truth

understand where you coming from but you gonna understand..

cheap things don't come good..

I did search in sgcarmart and those ride you mentioned, only cost $5k and COE till Oct. 2017.

think even simpler, why don't other potential buyers consider them in the first place?

I been frugal in my life, but there are times, whereby I regret over my cheaply purchases.

sometime, spending a little more, gets you headache less.

a car does a family good, going for meals and shopping together.

but if the car broke down easily or spend most of its time in workshop..

then whats the point..

:D

that was the car i had in mine when buying a car....the boot to small for my liking and so i settled for a g2. Luckily jb got tons of g2 spare parts....can go proton for major issues or normal ws for simple servicing.

i think ts emo already lol.

but a good medicine or good advice is alway hard to take ( or bitter)

:XD:

yeah..

probably cursing or put us under hate list..

people trying to buy a car and look at the replies I got..

I don't know about  the technology from China makes, should be improved or even exceed Malaysia.

but this 2 models, is really kinda weird..

a mini mpv and only 1.1.. and can sit 7 pax..

my 1.1 ferry 4 pax.. already kinda stress and I never step more than 80km..

its really underpower, mine has only 75bhp..

but look at Mitsubishi attrage, horsepower and engine around the same but no problem with 5 pax.

hence the technology has really advance..

haha, yeah.. savvy is a love or hate affair.

if you got manual, you love it

if you got the semi auto, you hate it as the robotic gearbox will kills you. leaving you stranded in the highway..

g2, I was told to go for 1.6 too

earlier part of the year when my coe was due, I'm actively searching for persona or g2 but the quoted price was just too much for me to stomach.. my neighbourhood got 1 persona, nicely done and looks  comfortable

plus my love for this car.. is really too much..

I had so much fun with it..

I guess by 2026, I'm probably the last man standing.

The trouble with China brands is that PRC DO NOT TAKE PRIDE in their work. These companies... their main duty is to rip off well established brands LOOKS only and then try to make big bucks from there

When you expect them to produce something all on their own, these 2 vans are prime eg of how shitty these PRC companies are

FYI, I didn't see these vans at all on the streets during my recent trip to Shanghai last week. Shouldn't PRC support their own brands?

No PRC pple knew better and most shun their own companies.

Strange that we overseas chinese are seeking out their in house junks overseas.

FYI, the Hafei Minz front discs are NOT vented.Solid discs only Prob too expensive to make vented discs. .Whats preventing from overheating... well your guess is as good as mine.

Just don't do it. I would gladly take the MRT if I were you.

To TS, how come not worth buying a made in Malaysia car (Proton Exora) as second hand? Does that mean buying China-made ones are worth it? Can share more?

Oh because when my dad was looking around on sgcarmart, the Exora depreciation is all around 10k per year, same as Suzuki APV so not worth buying Exora. Also after seeing all you guys comments I may consider a Chery V5 because that looks more stable then any of these vans.

Your question is similar to:

Is stepping on cow dung or dog poo better?

Lol, I cannot praise this post as I do not have enough points. but need to let you know that it is a very good analogy.
