economic slowdown is not going to affect coe. The quota will. Many buyer wait for bigger quota to take advantage of lower coe but the PH ruined everything. So with reducing quota and many waiting buyers knowing that they have less than 1 year before quota shrink more, many will not wait any longer and accept high coe. I too waited but eventually give up and committed.

Am on the lookout for almost new repossessed car.

You have lobang? I tried to bid for those auction cars but not successful so far. There are also limited options. And most of the merce put up by daimler fleet mgmt are only for business org to bid

With the impending reduced coe quota in the subsequent cycle , any panic buying in showrooms ?

Don't need to panic, we have 2 COE biddings each month. If ready to buy a new car, secure G COE simple as that.

Easy to blame PH like Uber. But then who is uber in Spore? It's lion city rental. And why are they acquiring so many cars that ultimately has such an impact on the COE PREMIUMS. They can't be buying to keep coz cars are an expense. They are buying coz they are hirers.. and these so call hirers could be using this scheme to get a car without the big downpayment.. who are these hirers that don't have $$$ for these downpayments? Many could be fellow Sporeans who truly need a car for whatever reason..So who are we blaming? We who could afford the downpayment are just as culpable..

There are tens of thousands of SGeans who want/need a car, but cannot afford the 30% cash d/p.

Part of the lot would also be folks who got their car/COE last decade, but cannot afford to pay PQP in cash to renew their COE (although there are credit companies giving PQP loans up to 5 years and with super-high (>>10%) interest ... which turned them off.

Just curious keep seeing showrooms empty.. somemore coe keeps rising. Does that mean LCR is out to drive ADs out of business?

Since I know LCR directly purchases from PIs without coe?

Some Jap brands showroom and demo cars still unsold after 2 weeks

COE prices are controlled by AD, and manupilated by them to begin with.

COE prices are controlled by AD, and manupilated by them to begin with.

Irony is the relevant authorities allows this.

ADs used to be able to manage COE price but these days with the LCR and other private hire companies who bid COE in quantity of hundreds,   ADs no longer have absolute influence in COE price anymore.

I think we have learnt many times in the past few months. Showroom crowds have no co-relation to coe price anymore :p
