Any idea? I thought I saw a murano v6 with 1.

I don't think come standard.

Probably owners add on.

Can buy from overseas and install but don't know if LTA will grown on it.

More chance that it is acceptable if it is an official uk/europe accessory for that car model (which mean it meets regulations there) - which means not tow hitch but removable tow ball bar.

I plan to install hitch rear basket that doesn’t block license plate and brake & signal lights. Anyone knows whether TP/LTA will stop you?

Hitch basket - https://www.etrailer.com/tv-review-17x46-curt-cargo-carrier-c18145.aspx

I was told (unofficially) that the basket must be removed when not actually carrying cargo.

No definite approval for when it is being used to carry cargo.

what do u plan to carry? I was considering getting one for road trips but then thought about the risk of theft and gave up the idea (for now)

Forget about tow hitch , even tow hook also not allowed. Many years ago I tried to install tow hitch but was told not allowed , you can check with LTA. This is an item that certainly needs approval and I doubt they would approve it.

Think someone wrote to LTA before as long the hitch doesn’t protrude out of the bumper is fine. Here probably should be fine -

Not sure how true is that. But I probably write to LTA to confirm.

JohnSHL - it’s going bags or luggage for traveling up MY. I also thought of getting a more secure container type but it’s pretty pricey - Thule https://www.amazon.com/Thule-Transporter-Combination-Hitch-Carrier/dp/B07CTHD8GF

Not sure is there a smaller secured container type that doesn’t block brake and signal lights.

I've never seen this hard box type for hitch before. Looks good but as u mentioned, pricey.

do consider:

1) theft

2) dust

3) rain
