Long story short, was in an accident more than 1 year ago . Car insurance lawyers cannot settle with the other party, now i have to go court. I have never encounter such things b4, normally insurance will be able to settle. Smore it was a minor accident where the guy tried to overtake me fr the right on a single lane road when i wanted to turn right. Anyone have such experience in court? Dunno wat i must do and lawyers did not even provide any advise

i went before, maybe 5 years ago? side by side clash w taxi when he was filtering to the right most lane to pick up passengers near paya lebar  MRT and i was going straight. naturally he wld claim the reverse ie i was filtering to his lane.

lawyers will meet u once pre trial to tell u why u r going to court, and on actual day. wont really say much advice to you. just stick to your story as per statement.

both parties will be brought into the judge's office on actual day. judge will then ask both sides to tell their stories. i substantiated mine w pics from the incident showing my car was still in my own lane with tires pointing straight (not filtering). these shld hv been submitted tog in the incident report upfront. taxi driver couldnt dispute as he had agreed my pics were taken immed post accident. my lawyer kept quiet totally throughout.

end up i won, he lost. claimed full sum against his insurance.  hope you hv a good ending as well!

As what is stated above, stick to the accident report you have written. Don't add in new detail and don't try to change anything. Only answer specifically to what you are asked. Let the lawyers do their job. If asked, are you sure, and how sure are you - just say to the best of my recollection and knowledge, it has been more than 1 year ago.

Politicians who suddenly got amnesia and don't want to admit remembering anything always

say this is to the best of my recollection and knowledge, it has been more than 1 year ago.

A person telling the truth will say something like I was in my lane driving straight ahead and

this car swerved into me and hit me and I remember this very clearly as if it happened yesterday.

Keep your statements short and simple. Don't add unnecessary (emotional) details.

I remember my previous accident report only got 3 sentences.

1. I was driving straight on main road.

2. Taxi came out from side road.

3. Taxi crashed into my car.

I won my 100% claim against taxi.

Now, I wonder if your insurance and his insurance is the same company, would they put up a fight ?

The same company will win one and lose one. :a-confused:

Insurance companies wouldn't lost. They will claim administration and lawyer fees and put the costs to the consumers.

of course they will not fight internally. like what yeobt says, they just screw the consumer. like what NTUC did to me. say 50-50.
