Hamburger Hypersonic August 20, 2017 Share August 20, 2017 for spur 2nd conceded goal, i put largely the blame on dembelee. he looked punctures and did little to track back the lost ball and of course, lost alonso and hence the conceded goal that won the game. ↡ Advertisement

Bro, you might have mistaken Wanyama as Dembele. :) The quick throw out from Lloris to Wanyama is the right move. Wanyama was then double teamed by Alonso and Luiz and eventually conceded possession. Spurs still have many players back so wasn't caught out. Mistake is that when the loose ball went to Kante on the left flank, no one picked up the run of Alonso. Trippier already on Kante, Wanyama should have rightfully tracked the run of Alonso especially after losing the ball. Nearest Spurs player was Eriksen and he didn't react as well. What's left is for Lloris to save the shot but yet, he failed to do his job there. Wanyama could be too casual there but imo, him loosing the ball there isn't fatal. The lack of awareness by him and his teammates in the subsequent build up is a bigger mistake.

Spurman Supercharged August 21, 2017 Share August 21, 2017 Psychologically spurs got destroyed.... wembly hoodoo seems to get all over in the heads of the players. For long periods, I tot it was still moaner in charge of bus-parking chelsea, after they went ahead. Spurs laboured in the big wembley field, but was unable to find (m)any real threats towards Chelsea's goal - reminded me of another fateful match a few seasons ago... And as the match played out, could see the spurs team that was so vibrant in so many matches in the last 2 seasons, like also think it's not their day already... Then of course the ang pow from Batman, which invigorated Spurs late on, but the momentary lapse of few players together, actually gifted Alonso and Chelsea the points. Lloris should have used his leg to block lah. So close already still wanna get down to use his hand/body... Now regret liao...

Osprey23 Turbocharged August 26, 2017 Share August 26, 2017 Bournemouth started the game well and taken a well deserved lead. World class strike from the left wingback. However after Defoe missed his chance, the tide turned and it was Man City all the way. Bournemouth are very lucky that Ake wasn't sent off with that foul. Mendy looks very dangerous on the left flank. The first time cross which Jesus missed was top class. Bournemouth deployed a defensive 5-3-2 with midblock. Shape is good but they are not tracking City's runners. So many times City players are able to get past behind the defensive line through clever runs and pin point through balls. Need to address that or I see Man City winning in the second half ↡ Advertisement
