GGMU 17/18 - New season

ManU 4 (Martial/Smalling/Pogba/Lukaku) - New 1

We were 1-0 down in the 14th minute and Smalling has trouble down the right side as their wingers are pacy. Both Martial and Smalling scored through headers and showed Lukaku (who should've been awarded a penalty) how it's done, by heading downwards instead of high up and 2-1 up at halftime. Pogba and his control of midfield and the assist to Martial for the 1st goal showed that he was sorely missed during his injury.

Better showing in the 2nd half and both Pogs and Lukaku made the list and put the game to bed, with Ibra coming on for Martial towards the end.

seems like an easy game for Utd tonight vs Brighton... but looking at recent form, Utd cannot be complacent... all the best and hope to get the 3 points.

Playing ugly, like the match against Basel but fortunate to get 3 points against Brighton through an own goal which Young initiated and he deserves the MOTM award. The newly-promoted clubs are a force to be reckoned with, whilst the regular premier teams like Crystal, Everton, Leicester etc are still in the doldrums.

Wat 2 - ManU 4 (Youngx2, Martial, Lingaard)

We could have wrapped up the game 30 mins in the 1st half, with goals from Young (through a free kick and half-volley) and Martial five minutes apart, but allowed Watford to come back in the 2nd where they scored 2 goals (including a pen given by Rojo). Lingaard had good positioning and was all over the place before scoring his goal.

Lukaku missed a good chance but seems to be a one hit wonder and expects balls to be passed to him without moving into position and one can only wonder why JM places his faith in him to sub him. In the other game, Leiceister won 2 -1 over Spurs. Next up is Arsenal, Glory!

Lukaku played like crap in the last few games, although he had assisted Martial yesterday. If you watched the game, you can notice that he pointed to the spot where he wanted the ball (which was right in front of the goalpost) and a no-brainer that anyone could've wanted to be spoonfed. Building his confidence aside, JM should've subbed him earlier for Ibra as we had too much fwds, hence allowing Watford to come back with 2 goals although Lindelof had a good game.

confirmed already? and no fellaini right? ho say liao..... got chance

We may take an additional London cab with the dbl-decker lol

Ars 1 - ManU 3 (Valencia, Lingaard x 2)

Well-deserved score-line even though Arsenal came back strongly (more than 75% possession and 12 corners in total) in the 2nd half where De Gea foiled their many chances. Pogba got a straight red card for a studs-up tackle, and will miss the next game against the noisy neighbours.

Again, Lukaku, being the lone man up should have been replaced by Rashford for Young, who I feel has much better pace when the rest were back at defence. GGMU!

I beg to differ.

2 penalty calls from Arsenal went unanswered with clear contact from the defenders. We were lucky to come away with a win thanks to DDG and couple of dodgy ref calls.

An important win to keep pace with Man C but a costly red card from Pogba which will greatly affect the Manchester derby next week.
