The problem with Hakodate is that it is so far off from Sapporo and the rest of the areas i.e Furano, Lake Akan, Noboribetsu. If I go Hakodate, I will arrange my one of my domestic via there to avoid a round trip. Comparitively, Otaru is just a stone throw from Sapporo.

my 10 days trip covers only 1,400 km. no rush and no need to speed. compare to Australia or Scotland trips, distance much shorter. holiday needs time. hahaha
