Last time in upper serangoon road, there's one one farm. Don't think there's any left now

I brought my kids there about 8-10 yr ago i think, when they were much younger. They were very thrilled to see crocs.

Not many there, but should have maybe 30 of different sizes.

Now is a condo  [laugh]

Think TOP'ed in the last 2 yr maybe...

So the Crocs owner should have Huat'ed i guess...

Dried crocodile meat is commonly used as an ingredient in traditional Chinese medicinal/herbal brewed soup which serves to treat people with respiratory issues (e.g. asthma, lung issues). It is very heaty though, so sometimes traditionally the elder folk would recommend it for people going overseas to colder climates. Most of the bigger Chinese medicinal halls should sell it.

If you're looking at the meat itself for a cooking dish, there may be some of those fishmongers in wet markets that do have the meat for sale, but nowadays quite rare to find nowadays also. A couple of years back, there was a stall at TPY Lorong 1 that sold Croc meat but I understand it has since switched to frogs and snake heads.

not very thrilling. scary mofos.

we were at the sg zoo recently, then we went to look at a crocodile lying in the water. it turned to face us and was looking at us and the snout was up against the glass just separated by the glass. This was a big one, my size. Looking at us like we are a chicken  [shakehead]

Yes, my late grandma had asked my mother to cook boil meat soup when i was young as i had asthma.

And apparently my late grandpa in the 50s, had sourced for croc gall to treat rare illnesses in Chinatown. That one was super bitter in smell/taste.  :a-whiteflag:

zoo ones different, separated by glass only. if go macritchie canoe and do capsize drill, then got croc appear next to you, then that one will be scared till act mati  [laugh]

the upper serangoon farm, had a few big big deep deep sunken pool/area, and people are standing at the top, separated by waist-chest height cement (I think) 'fence', so unless got people see no open and purposely climb over and jump down, otherwise is v far from the crocs below.

I had to carry my kids up and held them tightly to let them see inside at that time, as they weren't even tall enough to see over the cement fence and look at the crocs below.
