Thot TS gonna ask leak oil change oil gasket how many hundred dollah?

 

Not leak oil so gotta buy new $190K car....

$4K can do engine swap already.

 

Change oil seals only, your garage need to use such a big chopper or not? [laugh]

 

hi guru,

 

my car today leaking black oil, garage call me said repair need 4k, ask me to abandon ship and change tot he new c 200, 

ad said no stock for thus year, need indent for 6 month, car time said got stock, rive away at 190k+ month end deliver, 

 

so what will u guys do? repair or dont repair, ad or pi?

i think ts is driving a r56 cooper s. this car need a bit more tender love and care.

 

I will do up the necessary repair and replacement for all the wear and tear and go coe extension.

 

I love r56 cooper s although my best love is r53 cooper s supercharge model.

Read again TS mentioned leak not from usual gasket but needee to strip engine.

 

Probably a torque convertor seal or others that need to be stripped with engine out of bay.

 

Still 4k is kind of steep.

As for casket can look for RadX?

Brother, my suggestion is you should go to other workshop to check and get second opinion before committing to $4K repair.  My previous Toyota car, 10 years ago also had an engine oil leaking detected and after checking it found that only the casket cover need to replace and only cost around $100+, unless your car have many other problems.

wife pervious r56 mini non-s mh quoted ard $1400 or $1500 to change 2 engine mounting and water pump.

 

get it done by outside workshop damage ard $1000 or $1200 (can't remember clearly).

 

all depend on what ts need? mh provide parts and workmanship warranty.

My wife recently sent R56 to MH.  She paid 2.6k for fuel pump (I think hi pressure) + battery + godknowswhatever.

 

Since i am not in town, boh pian.

you read his thread again, he is contemplating 190+K C200, matter of PI or Cycle only. Problem is Cycle no stock now.  MCFer here trying to help him rationalise, not too chong tong. [laugh]  [laugh]

Since i am not in town, boh pian.

 

I overhaul WRX engine i think < $2.8k. But is outside workshop la. 

Spark plugs, coolant, engine and gearbox oil, gasket and skimming, timing belt and water pump.

 

 

Your workshop knife quite sharp !
