Just got to wait till the venture funds give up funding this craziness....

Then there will be lots of scrap metal available:

Remember government nearly want to also go into bike sharing scheme? Heng they end up decide not to go into it. If not, they will need to waste resources to up keep these bikes and etc. At least now the cost for upkeep and etc is not their tai ji. If these companies can't comply with government regulations out they go. So Heng AR..

They better don't waste more taxpayer's monies on these unnecessary things.

People can buy their own bikes. Govt don't need to intervene in everything.

you see this also in Australia.

Some of them even in the river too.

Amsterdam is considered the bike-friendliest country in the world, yet yearly about 15,000 are dredged up from the canals.

Can try to learn from Japan?

They have paid bike parking lots at almost all the train stations (suburbs). Charges are very low, and you have bike attendants arranging the bikes neatly. Can also provide jobs for some people. Some are also automated.

Our garment wants car lite, but look at the number of bike parking lots at MRT stations.... its a joke ! And also the lack of enforcement. Even before the bike sharing came about, many bicycles also anyhow park. Its just amplified because these operators came in very fast.

That said, its just a numbers game. When too many bikes, sure to have problems, just how bad nia. Note: The japs are generally nice but you do see inconsiderate bicycle riders rather regularly too

Even you have bike attendants to arrange the bikes, think they would quit the job within a day, cause the number of bike here is scary!

In some countries, you can bring the bike up the train. In Singapore it is too pack to bring the bike into the Train.

In Germany, any bike will be fine. They do not have space problem on the train.

In Singapore, people will give you a "kind" of look if the train is pack.
