Ixus75 3rd Gear January 3, 2019 Share January 3, 2019 Found a 2017 article so this is in line with Wearnes decision and it is happening now. http://www.carbuyer.com.sg/volvo-made-in-china-singapore/ A spokesperson from Wearnes Automotive, the local distributor for Volvo cars, said that all Volvo S90s sold in Singapore are currently made in Sweden, and that China-built ones will be “made available at a later stage” here. Sdf4786k Twincharged January 4, 2019 Share January 4, 2019 Another main advantage. cheaper servicong and parts easily available. I wonder if they know how to repair or do they just rip out parts that failed and replace module by module?

Sdf4786k Twincharged January 21, 2019 Share January 21, 2019 Looks like the joint venture not that smooth https://paultan.org/2019/01/18/proton-faces-rm523m-lawsuit-from-chinas-goldstar/ The parties entered the equity joint venture contract (EJVC) on April 17, 2015, which has since been terminated on January 22, 2018. The purpose of the joint venture was to establish a company to produce and sell Lotus cars, engines, parts, components and accessories. As per the terms mentioned in the EJVC, GLAC was incorporated on September 25, 2015, with the current amount of issued and paid-up capital listed at RM180 million – the registered shareholders of GLAC are PHB (40%), LGIL (10%) and Goldstar (50%). However, after failing to obtain the required manufacturing licence by the extended December 31, 2017 deadline, the contract was cancelled on January 22 last year, resulting in GLAC being unable to commence its business. Lala81 Hypersonic January 30, 2019 Share January 30, 2019 Will probably sell very well in Malaysia given what u get for 120+k ringgit. And the build quality seems good. The reviews all very positive. Wonder if anyone will bring it in to SG. The kar cheng looks nice. Very strange..... When Perodua selling re-badged JAPAN Toyota/Dahatsu cars, everybody said they are not good. But when Proton bring in re-badged CHINA Geely cars, everybody sound so interested. i won't buy it. But it seems like a genuinely competitive product this time. ↡ Advertisement
