The market for this segment of car has almost vanished. accord is also selling for around 7k depreciation.

 

Nobody wants to pay road tax surcharge for such a big engine.

For example, if u calculate a 2 n 2.5l 7 yrs Teana together with the rd tax , Petrol consumption, car price n driving pleasure, the annual depre is not that much...

If basic transport is all one needs, might as well take grab/uber/teksi. Cheaper n less painful to ride

This period, any good deals got to be wary. Easy to fix up a flooded car to look good temporarily. Problems only start coming up a few months later.

1)      Uber or Grab during peak hours – it’s cheaper to own a car and drive yourself. 

2)      Taxi – non available even if you have the money to pay 

3)      MRT – you’d end up late or stuck in the train 

4)      Bus – Try to board one  and you can strike 1^st prize in 4D

Many car owners love to give these reasons to justify buying a car. But the fact is that if really buy those kind of budget cars, might as well just take public transport. Our public transport is quite good and singapore is so small that travelling from one place to another by public transport isn't that much slower than car or in certain situations even faster.
