To vid. Do the hk government recent propose on switching fromtraditional to simplify Chinese affect your kids? They are in international school probably not. The tragic bus accident recently hk government just declare no fire works display on cny eve.

To the newspaper family..go take a walk around jalan bukit merah..chin swee estate to see how spoiled you and your family are..I doubt your very much do charity or donation since at 5 figures your still need government assistance.

a few things to add

1) income tax, at least $600 per mth if single income 5figure

2) insurance for whole family of 5 will be closer to $2k

3) self expenses? easily 1k

4) car expenses will be more than 1.5k, any car now dep $10+

She had a heart transplant and I don’t think it’s cheap.... don’t know what future medical costs she going to kenna....

I think the main problem in Singapore is the medical costs... government should really have a focused strategy of reducing healthcare costs and not just ways to fund it.

Import manpower, look at India or China how they get their drugs

People ask why she got a maid... she had a heart transplant for goodness sake. She definitely needed a helper during that time. Once u start with a maid I think it’s tough to go back to without one.

That is why we never got a maid

Not really, all fees cited here are converted to monthly. Let me know which one is annual.

Helpers also need food, transport, medical costs to support the family sometimes. Nowadays basic pay for helpers around $550 onwards. Plus the agency fees etc.

brudder......its $99,999......

I going to throw away my imh medicine.

This are so called group that wear a bigger hat hat than their head deserve.

10k divide by 5 headcount everyone still get around 2k.

Child what sailing club activity! Pte tuition ! Really a disgrace to their parent. If there really a dislike funtion..I will click 100 no 10000 times.

1000 plus medication...How there is pte price! How about lower your ego go polyclinic!

No mention of car driven. 5 adults definitely not sedan! Maybe own two cars.

Maid! All grown up and still need a maid to change your diaper!

Really angry with such people. If Government give you 1000 per month rebate or what ever I would rather spread out 200 for 5 needy families. Shit people. Shit family.

10k a month is more than enough for their family....

Chill bro.... middle class like these really don't get much rebates/help from govt today. And honestly everyone (even the rich) will ask loudly for more things from Ah Gong if someone gives them a mike.

And this lady does have heart transplant (no joke) which probably only can last her a few years/decades, so please be sympathetic. No one wants to get serious medical ailment.

Transplant yes.... but her medical bills are 2000 per year or $160 per month.

Compared to their >10k income, not that much.

Basic

Medical 1500 - What's this for?  1500 is definitely an overestimate la. Esp since you already factored in insurance which should help when bills are higher when older. Think 200 is more than enough if no serious illness

Helper 1000- Still need helper?! Regional economies are going to do much better than us in the future. Helpers will be and should be out of reach for most. Get a part time cleaner will do and only 200-300 per month

Parents/gifts 1000 - okay

Car 1500 -okay but if really no money for savings, better avoid the car

Tax 500 -okay

Insurance 1000 -okay

Groceries / household 1000 -okay

Mortgage 2500 (top up $500 cash after deducting CPF) How much is the house to have to pay 2.5k per month? Approx 850k? Buy cheaper house lor.

Enrichment and/or childcare 1000-3000 (or even more) -Clearly not needed.

Bills (HP, internet, electricity and water): 300-500 -okay

Already more than $10,000 after cut here and there. There, helped you cut to less than 8k. Still got 2k per month for savings which you missed out on. Suggest at least 3k-4k for savings though since CPF might be found to be insolvent in the future. Best not to keep all of it in SGD or SG property

Optional

Religion / donation 1000

Travel 500

Eating out / cosmetics (basic) / clothes (replacement) 200

tax $500/month? Too much lar bro......income tax he will have 4 to claim tax relief and if include maid it will be 5. Insurance can go for medishield plans......it will save alot since the premium are paid by his medisave...

Wife do part-time nia with maid somemore........no need childcare liao!

Car-$1500 is including carpark and taxes?

Among other things, she requires expensive immunosuppressants. She has to take a $50 pill every day for the rest of her life.

Even after insurance and financial support, her medication still costs more than $1,000 for six months.
