Mine is the full petrol version. Maximum I went was 580km and this was after 1st 1k servicing. For a 50L tank car with heavy body, not too bad IMO.

i believe the non hybrid version has a 60L tank.im getting the same as you.translate to roughly 9/9.8km per litre.

Saw something interesting from Reddit that applies to Toyotas and Lexuses since they share the same factory production system:

"The biggest example I can think of is that every Toyota vehicle is built 100% correctly from start to finish. As an example, if you're a Toyota line assembly worker and you discover a mistake that was made earlier in the assembly process, you hit a button on your station and it brings the entire assembly line to a halt. A special team of workers responds to your location and they attempt to fix whatever the mistake may have been. If they can fix it on the spot, great, the line is restarted and the car continues to be assembled to be sold. If they cannot fix it right there, the entire car assembly is taken off the line by a giant robot and moved to another area for analysis on "why/how" the mistake was made so its root cause can be fixed so that going forward no car they build ever has that problem again. They then rebuild what was supposed to be that car completely and correctly. It is awe inspiring.

GM on the other hand, same scenario, you're a line assembly worker and find a mistake from before your station. The proper action with GM is to simply hang a paper tag on the mistake section and continue your work. Then when the car gets to the end of the line, a special team is there to inspect the car and fix any tags on the car. But the thing is, the car could have twenty separate little tags on it and every car built that day could have the same problem and therefore tag that needs fixed. So a top of the line Corvette ZR1 could be built with tons of errors but a Camry will be built with none.

TL;DR: GM builds broken cars that need to be fixed before they can be sold. Toyota builds as close to perfect cars, the first time."

Yes I have checked. It is 60L. The fuel consumption is average after all.

past week i'm getting an average of 10.5km/L.guess that's very impressive for it's mammoth size and weight.been using Eco mode all the way.gradual acceleration from standstill and normal speed while cruising.trying to achieve 11km/L.hopefully....

BTW,hope it's not to late(paiseh) to wish all my Chinese friends a Happy and Prosperous New Year!!!..GONG XI FA CAI

Check with you guys, do Borneo provide the owners with complimentary first year insurance upon purchase? I know road tax is included, but I was told not the insurance.

Usually car distributors do not give complimentary insurance, because every individual will get a different insurance premium rate.

There are some times where Borneo will have promo for "free insurance", basically they will give you additional 2k off the car price to subsidise your insurance cost.

That's Toyota's "Kaizen" philosophy. Which gives even a "lowly" production line worker authority to stop the entire production line if he/ she detects a defect/ error.

This highlights the management's trust in ground staff, and the culture of ensuring that the smallest defect is fixed before entering the final product. It also boosts ground staff morale and contributes to their pride in work.

Six Sigma (which is being taught to many companies) was derived from this.

Was there this afternoon to check out the ES and totally love the luxurious feel of the car. Was molesting the new Camry before this and thought it was quite nice, but after seeing the ES, realized the difference really quite huge lol

Thought prices are very competitive even for the luxury Es 300h, though delivery is still May

I was there doing the same this afternoon too!

Still considering between the 2.

Tough choice, cos one is in stock and the other has a 3 month waiting time!

For my case, both no stock, both have to wait till March or May.

it is a battle between my heart and my mind due to my frequent business trip.

Bro, I suppose you got ES250 right? Correct me if I am wrong. As for the new 8 speed gearbox, you should be achieving 16km/L on cruising. My current 6 speed already can get almost 14km/L on cruising. Unless your gradual acceleration is heavy footed. I am light footed guy who tries to get more KM for every Litre.

For an emotive purchase like cars, heart must win (if pockets allow) lol
