I agree with the look but not when the luggage is so new that itâs is itâs first trip

For brands like Rimowa, I only use for carry-on luggage.

Have you seen the airport luggage handlers throw and shaft bags around?

 

Get to see such ill treatment, especially when I am in the US domestic airport terminals.

After reading this thread. I went out to purchase a new luggage at the luggage fair in Ngee Ann city’s event hall.

I use rice bag or taurpalin bag.

whatever you use, buy those 2" luggage belts (from daiso) and then belt up your bags when you check your bags in.

 

very good extra protection.

 

soft case, hard case and even duffles will arrive intact ! (wheels not included)

my relative used a duffle to pack her stuffs without the belts and the bag ended up open due to the mishandling ...but she was not worried about missing items ... more worried if got extra things inside or not.

 

for me, we pack our bags rather full so the belts will act as additional fastener to prevent the bag from bursting open.... try it for yourself ... $2 only ...

Actually the belts give good protection especially when your luggage is very full. Prevent the zipper from bursting

i have seen few luggages “break” with belt

i guess owner over-tighten the luggage and then kena throw plus under pressure cause pecah!

Er no, what i meant was isn't that the whole point of alum rimowa? To be used for check-in to get thrown around and manhandled.  Same like Pelican.
