Hart signs for Burnley. Good for both parties

Didn’t expect his stock to drop so quickly but yes it’s a good move n I wish him luck as he tries to rebuild his career which he still has many years ahead of him for a goalie.

Wow very interesting question n really tough to decide.

Twist my arm n I’ll say Hart cos he is an established n experienced goalie who I feel still has it in him to play in EPL

Karius is not a bad goalie but his high profile mistake in UCL Final of all games has shot his confidence to pieces n I’m not sure if he can ever recover from this setback. He needs to be mentally very strong to overcome this and I’m not sure if he can. In fact, I think most sportsmen will not be able to, my 2 cents.

Hart was one of the best keeper of all times, however he made some damn stupid error resulting in PepG benched him

hence becoming himself, sad but he has to face reality, that is football cruel and he has to live it up in other league again, if he can be Peter Shilton, that is another story . . . let's see

looks like Chelsea may need a new keeper...

Madness this price for a goalie who is behind De Gea n Reina in the Spanish National team but of course being only 23yrs has many years ahead of him. Sounds like a desperate move whilst selling Courtois for half the price!

Obviously with only 1 season to go, Courtois price has dropped substantially but still paying a World record fee for a goalie only proven in La Liga n not a regular in the National team unlike Allison is a risk if u ask me.

Butland, Schmeichel n few other EPL goalies could hv been bought for half that price so strange move indeed!

tend to agree. Hart is definitely more reliable than Karius, who is quite jittery at tthe moment.

the last couple of seasons have been a slide down a slippery slope for him. Loaned out to Italy and could only land a relegation-fight club in west ham.

Burnley being a top 10 side in the EPL actually represents a step up for this stage of his career. If he plays well, perhaps he could still have some late-career progression.

Doubt they will eventually transact at this price. if so, Bilbao will be laughing themselves to the bank.

think the deal will probably go through since even BBC has confirmed it. is it whether 71M is the transacted price.

If so, I reckon the price Real will pay for Courtois will easily be > 80M.  This will make Alisson cheap relatively.

Courtois didn't really have an outstanding last season nor was he that spectular in the WC.  He is of course a top class GK... but guess he is replaceable in all respect.

From what I read Bilbao, who only employ Basques don’t do business unless the buyout clause is activated. Think Herrera was bought this way.

So it’s pay up or don’t buy but let’s see.

BTW, the Croatian Kovacic from RM will sign for Chelsea in a loan deal.

OT abit, kudos to Bilbao who still stick to their principles and still manage to stay conpetitive in La Liga.

as mentioned, the price Sarri will be willing to pay for Kepa will likely be in relativity to the sale price or Courtois..  I doubt they will pay 70M if they can only sell at 40m.

Alisson is worth 65M. Courtois should be higher i guess.

RM want to pay only £35mil for Courtois who is in his last yr of contract. Maybe Chelsea can squeeze abit more n get max £40mil is my guess. The unknown factor is whether Kovacic loan has anything to do with the Courtois sale n so add some £ to the package but this speculation only.

As for Bilbao, as I mentioned they won’t sell unless u pay the buy out clause. Whether Chelsea actually pays it or waters it down abit, we shall know by tmr night when the EPL transfer window closes.
