Although parts available, the car is not just built to last. My opinion rah... too many issues along the way. Gearbox and compressor being the most sianz.

 

Yeah. My last straw is the CVT gearbox which i sent for overhaul when we decided not to change new car last Nov... unfortunately the mechanic try to save by replacing a salvaged CVT for lesser amount... but end up problematic... then he have to overhaul again. The downtime really inconvenient my family.

 

I got an Elantra. The price now is really good. Can consider if you keen. Price is good and SE is decent, 2 colleagues also buy from him. I can pass ya his contact if u keen. Lol

what is your mileage before you scrap?

I still thought kimchi gearbox are very reliable, is yours a rare case?

Oh to add... someone actually approach me when i wanna dekit. So eventually sold off to someone with extra few hundred dollars on top of paper

About 150k. Lol. Under utilised rah

 

Dekit is the wrong word to use. My compressor, battery and filters are less than 3 months then. Plan to swap out with some return.

Yes, moatly....Engine leaking... not yet overhaul though

CVT or 4AT? Change ur radiator, starter, compressor (2x? 3x?) Already? -.-

 

If feasible... try not to renew COE.... my 2cents... i paid heavy price for renewing.... lost parf and all those repairs

Starter replaced.

Last 12 months repaired 2 times. O2 sensor and donno what already.

So for ya .... likely....gearbox, engine and compressor in the pipeline.

everytime when i send 'her' for repair, she restore her vitality.. 

at times, i also threaten her.. Telling her to behave or i send her to doom.

 

as owners, we can do preventative measures but again, subject to the durability of the parts.

My friend Latio also has problem in CVT.

His car cannot move and need to call tow truck.

 

Send to overhaul twice and problem happen and call tow truck again.

He sold this unreliable car few years ago.

Jap swore by the reliability of CVT. Im skeptical after personal experience.

 

Heard of CVT reliability issue back in 2006 when i chose Latio Premium over 4AT (mainly due to claim better FC with CVT and also the really good Alcantara seat).

 

Mainly gearbox has fair share of wear and tear. Just that its more ex to overhaul CVT.

 

Thats why im very sensitive to CVT during testdrive. And SE insist Accent ia 5AT as stated in brochure while i insist its CVT...

 

End up... SE didnt do his homework

i know R, J and another lady SE.

Theres a lady that sold accent for 66999 in april expo carshow with lower interest than KMC stated 2.18...

 

Dunno how she manage to do that.... hmmmm
